Cut and Run /Iraq/election year
Edited on Mon Feb-23-04 03:14 PM by Mari333
Bring the troops home now. Cut and Run, we should have never been there in the first place.
I certainly hope we get out fast. Like Now. In the meantime this administration cannot continue to get away with their spin "heros in Error" which is total bullshite. The place is erupting and civil war is going to happen whether our puppet govt is there or not. And the soldiers are the sitting ducks.

New Delhi, An American expert Monday said the US might adopt a "cut and run policy" in Iraq because of the "negative fallout" from increasing troop casualties in that country in an election year.

1. Boy do I think you are wrong
No offense, but your analysis of the situation doesn't jibe. We need to finish the job we started. Just running away with our tail between our legs is a bad idea.

I would favor moving more control to the United Nations; and moving our troops out as we bring more local police forces online.

Frankly, though you are more likely to get your wish than I am to get mine. The Bush adminstration is desperate to be able to point Iraq as a success and it's hard to do that while we still have a lot of troops.

3. I disagree I think its imperative that the Bu$h admin admit
Edited on Mon Feb-23-04 03:30 PM by Mari333
they were wrong, the whole thing was wrong, and beg the UN on its hands and knees to take over. The apology from the Bu$h admin is imperative. This whole thing was a lie, and the whole thing is a lie, and the bloodbath has been a lie, and every day another soldier or civilian dies for a lie.
Time to go, say out loud "we were wrong", and get our kids out asap. Its a fraud, the whole damned thing, always has been. Bu$h is in the corner his cabal created for themselves. Time they fessed up and fast.
edit to add: I agree that the UN needs to be involved and fast,.but that wont happen if the Bu$h admin doesnt get on their hands and knees and thats not going to happen as they try to save face..all I see is more bloodshed and more soldiers being targets as the election year here in the US heats up...its gotten worse since Mission Accomplished, not better'
in the meantime, civil war is inevitable either way, so might as well pack up and get out now.

2. I agree completely, cut and run and get our people out of there...
unfortunately, this means either no one else comes in to help Iraq after we leave and the place explodes and we get the Muslim fundamentalists that Saddam had kept out, or the UN gets in and other fathers and mothers will have their children die in a needless war. Either way, the Middle East has changed for the worse and the whole world will suffer for it.

Bush* will rot in hell for what he has brought upon our world. I want to see him brought up before the World Court and tried as a war criminal.

And my thoughts and prayers go out to you son, Mari333.

5. Its going to explode either way
the puppet govt wont last long, and why should our soldiers and loved ones be in the middle of it? Civil war is inevitable, the lies the US is spinning about Chalabi democracy is ridiculous. Its going to erupt and soon and as the US election gets closer, the more angry the Shi ites and the other tribes there will get to make their points. By killing our kids and each other. They are furious with Bremer's statements about putting off elections according to the US policy..
