Bush: U.S. will turn back Haitian refugees |
|
Would this happen to the people of Cuba, if they were in the same situation? The president said he ordered the Coast Guard to maintain a "robust presence" along the U.S. coast watching for Haitian refugees. http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/02/25/haiti.revolt/index.html

2. More evidence against the Bush Organized Crime Family... |
|
... Smirk's policy is the same as his Poppy's. When Aristide was dumped by the generals in the early 1990s, Bush Sr. didn't lift a finger to help the first democratically elected Haitian president in 75 years (IIRC).
Aristide came to speak before the Cranbrook Peace Foundation (near Detroit) around that time. I heard Aristide say that all Bush had to do was pick up a phone and the generals would quit. But, Bush didn't.
Why? Aristide said the generals were backed by the 1-percent of Haitians who own 99-percent of Haiti. They also are the ones handling the drug trade, which brings millions (if not billions) in revenue to ... the top 1-percent of Haiti.
Despite Jesse Helm's best efforts to smear Aristide, new President Clinton eventually helped restore the guy to office. So, who's side is Bush Jr. on?

believe they would send these people back to die...oh wait yes I can..we only liberate people with oil. I hope Aristide mantains power...I don't want to see another military dictatorship. If a Democrat is in office perhaps we can push for more democratic reform in the tiny nation...we should work towards uplifting the poor in our hemisphere. It is a shame that as a world power nations so close to us are in such shambles with drugs, AIDS, ect. The black caucus should become more active in this issue. I know Maxine Waters has been speaking out about the Bush coup!

they dont ONLY "liberate" those with oil. They liberate the cubans and thats ALL POLITICS.
They dont need more "democratic" reform. they need to stop being F*(KED with. Aristide has been forced to accept all sorts of poor-unfriendly policies with all of the worldbank, wto, right wing meddling.
Yes the black caucus should be screaming bloody murder. and it is BLOODY MURDER and the Bush Crime Family is up to its earlobes in it.
It is not a matter of just helping or neglecting. They have actively caused much of it and still are.

/they cut off humanitarian aid to the poorest country in the hemisphere. /they undermine the democratically elected leader (like 92 percent of the vote) /they finance the opposition including known murderers and terrorists and provide haven for some of them /then they wont let them escape the carnage.
bush and his cabal of truly heartless bastards are surely going to burn in hell if there is one.
have i mentioned today how much i hate these people? malloy.

7. I don't think that's anything new. |

It's always been like that. If the Cubans reach shore, they get to stay. But the Haitians have always been sent back.

10. Gee, don't Haitians work cheap? |
|
Hey wait a minute -- isn't this the same Fearless Leader who said that there are lots of jobs in the US that Americans won't take, so he has to open our borders to guest workers?
I guess Haitians are not docile enough to be "guest-workers!"
Let's see -- Cubans fleeing from Communism are righteous; Haitians fleeing chaos and death are not.
Cubans - brown Haitians - very black
This is racism. This is an outrage!
Imagine playing politics with the lives and souls of the poorest and most vulnerable people in this hemisphere! Shame.
