The following was in The Atlanta Journal. This has got to be one of the best "singles ads" ever published:
SINGLE BLACK FEMALE seeks male companionship, ethnicity unimportant. I'm a very good looking girl who LOVES to play. I love long walks in the woods, riding in your pickup truck, hunting, camping and fishing trips, cozy winter nights lying by the fire. Candlelight dinners will have me eating out of your hand. Rub me the right way and watch me respond. I'll be at the front door when you get home from work, wearing only what nature gave me. Kiss me and I'm yours.. Call (404) 875-6420 and ask for Daisy.
Over 15,000 men found themselves talking to the Atlanta Humane Society about an 8-week old black Lab Retriever. Men are so easy.

2. Sweet! There's a reason why they are called "Man's best friend" |
|
Nothing like a Lab IMHO- I love the way their entire body wiggles when they wag their tail. Ahhh, the good old days with Sam...

8. Everything I wanted to know I learned from dogs |

(With many thanks to Sam, Homer, Ajax, Ollie, etc)
- Nothing makes a draining day go away like being welcomed home by someone who loves you.
- All things in life are worth checking out at least once.
- Long walks are to be valued above (almost) all.
- All we really need in life is food, a comfortable place to nap, and a friend. The rest is just for barking.

I hope she had hundreds of takers, and that all of them that didn't get to take her home decided to take home any of the other precious little puppies in need of home. I love labs, beagles and weenies are my fav, but there's no big dog like a lab.

9. We love labs and they are great with kids. |
|
Our neighbor had one, but the back yard was too small for the dog, and we have big back yards.
My kids love the two black labs at their grandparents' ranch.
