Bush might dump Cheney from 2004 ticket.
Edited on Wed Feb-25-04 11:26 PM by Mobius
Republicans Rally Around Cheney as Rumors Swirl
"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush and other Republicans are rallying around Vice President Dick Cheney as they seek to quash rumors that Bush might ultimately replace Cheney on his re-election ticket."
SNIP
"The National Journal article said there were "grumblings" among some Republicans who felt that removing Cheney from the ticket might be helpful to Bush because the vice president has been a key target of Democratic attacks for such issues as his past role as head of energy company Halliburton Co., the energy firm that contracts in post-war Iraq
Cheney's negative ratings in public opinion polls regularly are the worst of anyone in the Bush administration."

1. And it's going to be tough to go with Guiliani with a million
protestors in NYC for the GOP Convention.

2. If anyone dumps anyone..
..it'll be Cheney dumping Bush!
Who really runs things?
Unless they can replace Cheney with another high-ranking elite member of the AEI or PNAC, Mr. Evil isn't going anywhere.

11. Absolutely
Cheney has his own power base and I think he likes it just fine where he is. An angry Dick Cheney on the outside is Carl Rove's new worst nightmare.

4. He's not going anywhere and here's why: Cheney is the love doll
of the Right Wing. He's as important as Bush when it comes to courting the Repuke base. Bush needs to keep his base, and besides, what right winger could replace Cheney?

10. They only dump outsiders
like Whitman and Fleischer. Cheney is as inside as one can get in this misadministration. And given all the Constitutional and legal hoops he had to jump through to get his position, he's not going to let anyone push him out.

9. NICE GODFATHERISH GRAPHIC!
:toast:
I don't think Dick is going anywhere, unless Dick says so, like the other poster commented. I just think the speculation about it in major news sources is , well, gratifying. :D
