Is Bu$h a 'closet' homosexual? |
|
Think about it. The comments about "lump in the bed Laura". The Liberty very macho images with sock in crotch Bu$h claiming victory. And then there is the rumors about Bu$h flying to Knoxville to see his buddy from Harvard Glee Club. And now, an amendment that has zero chance of getting through, yet would portray him as very hetero for trying to get it passed.
Is this the act of a gay person in denial or trying to hide the truth. Getting a wife so he will look 'normal'. Trying to live a life he cannot have because of how he is wired?
More to the point, trying to hide what he is to his last base of voters, the uber right wing.
Please understand, I am not dissin' gay people, I am trying to understand if Bu$h's conduct is similar to a 'closet' homosexual.

I thought gays, like straights are born into their sexual orientations.
Shouldn't take too much thought.

Society and in particular some belief systems try to press people into rolls. It may well be that George has homosexual desires but is incapable of examining his own intrests enough to break out of the socialization he has been put through. Thus he would be deeply closeted gay that did not realize his own nature.

I like to think I examine my drives and nature. I may be mistaken but I continue to examine my life. There are those that do not feel as free as perhaps I do and believe that if they do not follow certain social guidelines they are horrible people. Thus they oppress or deny their own nature and attempt to be what is expected of them.
There are also those that realized what their nature was and later attempt to deny it. Whether it was forced pressure or a continuing battle with beliefs some find themself in the undesirable position of having to try to repress themself due to these beliefs.
Unfortunately the stress and pressure of trying to deal with a balance between what society expects and what your sense of self expresses sometimes leads to horrible actions. Lashing out at others or taking their own life are not unheard of reactions to this turmoil. It is the case of lashing out at others that draws our attention to George and others that seem to seethe with hatred for homosexuals.

Is that what you honestly believe?
I don't think he cares either way about homosexuals....his decision to support an anti-gay marriage amendment is a political move, nothing more nothing less...what exactly would one expect from a Republican President?

...it takes much self examination to get it on with another boy on the beach of your parents' summer house. Nor do I see where it takes much self examination to continue on with your playmate, especially when he conveniently appears at your same school. Nor do I see where it takes much self examination to keep visiting the pleasant southern state where your playmate has a political career and to get involved in a few gay orgies etc. and so on...
Sex is not about self examination. People act on impulse and then, when the impulse is satisfied, they remember where that impulse was satisfied. And when they have need, they return to the source.
You don't have to be Socrates to get laid, sorry, no! Much as we may hate to admit it, there are stupid gay men who have sex just as often if not more so as the thoughtful ones.

And my homophobia never surfaced. I kept it buried in myself.
But this whole "Is Bush* gay" line is old. It is schoolyard tactics to speculate about someones sexuality. There is NO proof, so why do we have to have these kinds of threads every few months? Especially considering there is stuff out there WITH proof, we should be focussing on.

"there is stuff out there WITH proof, we should be focussing on."
What kind of stuff? Stuff like: The Valerie Plame leak investigation, Enron scapegoats, Hindering the 9/11 investigation. Where was Dubya when he didn't show up for National Guard drills? Why lie to get us into war? How much has his family businesses benefitted from the war? He did business with Osama's brother, Has he ever met Osama? Why all the secrets? What is there to hide this week? What's going on in the background that the Amendment talk is diverting attention away from?
I don't see much of that on the discussion boards.

A good friend who I have known for 25 years is gay. And, he believes that other gays should be punished. Of course... he says he is one of the normal ones. ?? One thing to add..he never goes out and never gets out to socialize, except for work. Plus, he is a radical when it comes to abortion..women should be locked up forever for having one. He is hard to be around when he gets into a mood about the above issues. I find it so sad... this self loathing thing. I know it's our culture.
That's why I think the George W thing might have some truth

To publically say one thing and live another opens to door a bit. The stick you use to bash your opponent is made available to them to use against you. George calls for suspension of the rights of gays. This opens the door for us to examine his position.

Long ago I heard that those who are rabidly against gays are "Latient," homosexuals themselves.
He could have "feelings" that he wants to go away and by striking out at those who symbolize his feelings he is striking out at his feelings themselves.
If the symbols aren't there, the feelings might go away.
I've sometimes wondered about straight macho men who seem to have a lot of other men around and don't relate well to women, and are intolerant of gays. Are these a bunch of homosexual men in mutual denial? Maybe psychologist have a label for this.
He might be gay but he would NEVER admit it, not even to himself.

If I am, I apologize, it was not my intent.
Like I said, I am trying to understand what *Bush is doing and more to the point why he is doing what he is doing.
On previous posts I have said gays should have the right to marry. This is based on my understanding that there is nothing immoral or unnatural about a gay relationship. In mankind there is normal variations in how people are. It is natural. The is nothing wrong with being an individual.
As for a thread like this every month or so, I have never seen another thread asking about this. I have been here since last summer.

To this day if I eat alone I have a book, or papers, or a cell phone, anything to get rid of the feeling that I am on display eating alone. Bush is a bad President not a gay one.

Isn't it true that at least 10 % of the population is homosexual? If that is the case, there are a lot the politicians that are protesting Gay Marriage that are probably Gay themselves.
The hypocrisy of those that are living a lie and acting so nasty to others makes me want to puke! Where is Larry Flynt when we need him to "Out" all of these liers.
How many Cabinet Members-ten? How many top government neocons - ten? How many gay bashing members of congress? How many senators? Just count and * may be 1 in 10.
