2. Find out if you're local repair guy is a Dem
I only do business with Dem's

I have changed hairdresser and dry cleaner. I was subtle - 'so what do you think of president bush?' Buh bye...

3. You know, during the Days of the Old Republic I would have scolded you
for such nonsense.

Now I am in perfect agreement. While I don't go so far as to quiz my repair-people on their political affiliations, I usually "take their temperature" after they're done.

If they are hardcore Bushevik, they'll NEVER get my business again.

sad that it's come to this...

5. I never did this until the selection
I felt so powerless and betrayed by the USSC. I'm such a radical ;)

:hi:

8. I, too, try to find out in advance, especially for
expensive repairs. We installed an HRV system last year; took bids from 5 companies. The low bidder was a well-known neocon jerk. The next one up the ladder got the job - solid Dem.

4. What about education, conversion?
Especially with hairdressers--shouldn't we talk about what interests us, the customer, for a change?

6. My hairdresser would piss me off so bad
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 04:57 PM by madmax
talking about how it was no big deal that the USSC picked the prez and constantly repeating the Gore lies b.s. even after I showed him proof that it was propaganda. By the time I left I wanted to stab him with the scissors. Wasn't worth the bullshit to me.

Took me 2 years to find another good hair cutter, but it was worth it.

12. What a great idea. I'm doing that. But I can't give up my pizza
guy. His pizzas are too good. When he started to serve freedom fries, I knew he was a Repuke, but he's an immigrant and I think misguided.

9. Forget the warranty?
Are you nuts? Who do you think is actually going to do the repairs? Some guy in Costa Rica? "Yes sir, the repair is free. All you have to do is pay $1,562.98 shipping and handling. We'll have that sucker right as rain in 6-10 weeks depending on customs."

The warranty center contracts out to the local repair services (for a much better price than you'll get). The same guy fixes it, he just gets paid by GE instead of you.

13. This is true. When I had to get my stove fixed under warranty,
I was told I would be called back by a local appliance store, which is what happened. They were under contract to the stove manufacturer.

10. Demand the service covered under the warranty
Write a letter to GE and let them know you will never purchase another product from them because they have outsourced the customer service that takes the service calls. Since they cannot find it within their budget to hire American, you can nbo longer find it within your budget to buy GE.

11. I'm assuming...
that you do not know how to fix a refrigerator yourself...

would be a helpful thing - would it not...?

unfortunately - neither do i...

although - my grandfather (who was not an electrician by trade) knew how to...

i have a feeling that very soon we are going to need to know these things...

very soon i think we can kiss the idea of anyone else fixing anything for us (sweetly and high time in my opinion) goodbye...

very soon i think we will need to know how to refrigerate our food with some kind of renewable energy...

or else soon eat only fresh foods - if we can find that...

i also hope that we still are able to find water...
