National Holiday for "Mission Complete Day"? |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-27-04 03:52 PM by Must_B_Free
We are approaching the 1 year anniversary of the Victory against Terror in Operation Iraqi Liberation.
Does anyone recall the exact date of the famous "Mission Complete", pronouncement by President Bush? You know - the day that major combat operations in Iraq ended and Iraquis were finally free? I seem to recall it being just after the troops arrived in Bhagdad to find little resistance and then they displayed "Shock and Awe" by blowing up all the buildings that we are now planning to finance the rebuilding of.
I hope you will all join with me in calling for a National Holiday, perhaps a federally observed day off, in honor of Mission Accomplished, President Bush Himself, and his own Accomplishments in the War on Terror. As I recall, in preparation, he even made the sacrifice of "giving up sweets". What an incredible man, What an historic day.
Please submit ideas for names for this historic holiday. Anyone know what ways to pursue this with our representatives?
