Bush and brazil president gaffe |
|
Anyone remember this one? the Brazilian president, a highly educated man who has degrees from the Sorbonne and the London School of Economics and speaks several languages was having a monologue with his MIgthiness El Chimpo, when said Chimp's eyes began to glaze over (not much news there) and he interrupted a discussion on economics by the elighening question "Do you have blacks there as well?" Condi jumped in to the tell him where brazil was and gave him a brief history of slaves in that country.

2. Correct me if I am wrong, but Lula didn't go to the Sorbonne |
|
or have much of a higher education. He was born poor. And made his mark by rising thru the ranks of the labor party with little education. Of course tho, he is a highly enlightened man and beacons of light illuminate his brain in comparison to the Shrubs den of dirt.

3. Lula Was Elected October 2002 |

This report was from November 2001, which would have made it Cardoso.
Caardoso did go to the Sorbonne. Cardoso was a former Senator and economics professor who was anti-military rule and had spent time in exile.

I was referring to Henrique Cardoso - Lula was a shoe shine boy then became steel worker and union activist. Hardly finished school yet he has more sense and understanding in his little toe than these idiots in washington

"Do you have blacks, too?" -- George W. Bush, meeting with Brazilian President Fernando Henrique Cardoso; allegedly, in this incident, reportedly witnessed only by members of the White House Press Corps, Condoleezza Rice was present and jumped in to save Cardoso from having to answer, informing Bush that in fact Brazil is home to more blacks than any country outside Africa (unverified date: November 2, 2001)
But I can't remember where I got it from.
