Dig this poem about religious phonies by Carl Sandburg, very relevant

this was written back in the 1920's or 30's. it holds so true, even to this day.

7. Bughouse..reference to "Bughouse Square"

..on the near North Side, in what was a bohemian neighborhood with rooming houses ("bug houses")

Lots of soapbox speakers and ranters. where youd see a street preacher like in that poem.

The term became slang for the insane asylum or "funny farm"....",,,gonna send ya to da bughouse if ya keep acting dat way".

Also became the term for an attraction at Riverview amusement park (Chicagos coney island), with lots of crazy mirrors and mazes and such.
