Seattle area local news shows are part of Bush 2004 campaign. |

Last night at least two local news shows had stories about some anti-Kerry protestors--supposedly veterans and Vietnamese people who felt Kerry was a traitor for his anti-Vietnam War activities. It was hard to tell how many protestors there were because the shot was a close-up and there were dozens of American flags; there was no crowd estimate.
We all know that there have been HUNDREDS of anti-Bush and anti-Cheney protests but I have only seen maybe one or two of these mentioned on the local news.
The distortion of reality is mind-boggling and I realize that if I thought I could only get my news from standard sources I would have no idea of what the truth is. The most difficult type of propaganda to fight is the propaganda of omission and most ordinary Americans do not have the time to fill in the gaps of the corporate media by doing their own research.
I can only hope that the people running the Dem 2004 Presidential campaign have some clue about how to fight the pervasive mind control and propaganda that blasts out to Americans 24 hours a day.
On edit: Also, about 5% of our local news stories in the winter are (I am not kidding!) SKIING RELATED. Joblessness and homelessness, for example, are barely a blip, but SKIING is covered like it is the most important thing in the universe.

1. Now take the local news and multiply it by the number of states |
|
and you have the National news. The truth gets buried constantly.

4. One difference is that the national news shows have more to |
|
choose from to bury real news, but the local shows have to use stuff like skiing and high-speed police chases.

And are there any television stations that allow publicly-viewed feedback the way Yahoo does?
Oh, boy, there are so many things that need to be done, so little time, and so few resources to do them...:-(

6. Supposedly just veterans and Vietnamese. |
|
perhaps, maybe, doubtful. The crowd estimate was maybe one hundred.

I noticed that story too because of the way it was framed. It was done as a close shot and it looked to me like there were maybe 20 people there. They focused mostly on the tall guy yelling "moron". Total fake protest. You're right about the priorities the broadcasts have. If I hear about Alpental one more time.!aaarrrggghhh
