My wife is a speech therapist and she was asked to help an elderly patient who had suffered a stroke. While she was there, there was a knock on the door, and there stood two reps of our wonderful mr falwell. They told her the old lady had agreed to sign over her house to them so that falwell could pray for her (or some other revolting reason). My wife who, thank goodness, is a good person, told them she wasnt family and couldnt let them in - but to wait a moment. She then called her son who live close by, to ask him what she should do. He told her nothing and in a few minutes she heard the screech of tires as the son and some of his friends jumped ouf of their truck brandishing baseball bats and other blunt instruments. The son grabbed one by the collar and told him if they ever saw him, heard from him or even thought he was still trying to contact his mother he would beat them senseless. The miserable little bastards ran off, presumably and hopefully, wetting their pants in the process. After that sorry episode they couldnt do enough for us - especially since they were all good mechanics and would always come over to help if necessary. Isnt that disgusting?

Seriously?
What these repugnants are capable of, ripping of sick old people.
And to think I just got over being sick from the haggus thread. :)
Seriously though the part about her sons showing up with ball bats, now that is pricless.

7. well baseball bats is easily explained |
|
I live in a very conservative area where mulletts and tattoos reign supreme - her son definitely did NOT look like someone i would like to meet at night wearing a clinton t shirt! But, once we got past the first impression, they turned out be very nice people ( i dont discuss politics with them)

4. My mother-in-law lived on a very small SS check |
|
and what we could send her.. After she had a stroke, when we were clearing out her apartment, we found her checkbook register with checks made out to..
Falwell Jim & TammyFay Swaggart Schuller and others..
This was a woman who could not afford to part with a penny, but she was taken in by these blubbering beggars..
They beg money from old people and THEY live like Kings :(

It would be nice to see those jerks going down under baseball bats and whining to Jesus for help (which would not come immediately i assume)

9. There was another thread on DU today asking who is |
|
the creepiest or sleaziest evangelist and someone mentioned that "Rev" Fallwell got elderly people to sign their houses over to him. I was in a state of disbelief when I read that thread but to read the same thing here...Wow!
To think this charlatan is saying there is a price to be paid if she wants someone to pray for her.
Surely there are laws against stuff like this? Who is out there protecting vulnerable senior citizens?
