Email: From the Desk of Bill Clinton
You and I have made history together before. It's time to make some more.

Just a week after they began their multi-million dollar advertising blitz, Republicans have gone negative with the first of what will certainly be a barrage of attack ads. This is a major test for John Kerry's campaign -- and it's a significant opportunity for you and me.

It's our chance to demonstrate that, in 2004, we're not going to yield an inch to the Republican attack machine when it comes to defining what this campaign is all about. It's our chance to give John Kerry the kind of immediate, dramatic support he needs to stand toe-to-toe with the President and force him to debate the real issues in this campaign.

March 16, 2004 -- Let's make today the day that the entire Democratic Party speaks with one voice and launches the most successful 10-day fundraising drive in our Party's history. Here's my challenge to you: Send a donation right now to help me launch a "$10 Million in 10 Days" fundraising drive for John Kerry's campaign. Let's send donations flooding into Kerry headquarters.

https://contribute.johnkerry.com

Today, you and I can send a powerful message to John Kerry. We can promise him that we will never let him stand alone in the face of Republican attacks. In the days ahead, you'll be hearing from forceful voices from all across the Democratic Party -- all united in our determination to carry our values to victory in 2004. But, don't wait to act. Join me in making 3/16/04 a day you and I will always remember -- and one Republicans will never forget.

https://contribute.johnkerry.com

Thank you for joining me in standing behind John Kerry at a pivotal moment in his vitally important campaign. You and I have proven it time and time again. Working together, we know how to win. Let's do it again.

Sincerely,
Bill Clinton

2. I sincerely doubt even 10 mil would get the MEDIA on JK's side....
...since they're the ones who'll sway the most votes in the end...and that sum won't get the computer voting machines taken out of all the districts either....even the Big Dog sayin' so ain't gonna make it so...:evilfrown:

4. I agree
We should have a positive board, a seperate conspiracy theory board, and a bad news board. :)

6. Perhaps We Could
Perhaps we could call the positive board "The Snuggly Litte Kittens and Cute Baby Bears Board".

It would be nothing but sweetness and light.

Enforced positivity.

7. Now, Now
Be careful about encouraging the use of the ignore feature.

If you post that you are putting or have put someone on your ignore list, DU considers THAT to be a personal attack.

Let's all be positive and supportive, shall we?

Can we all join hands?

All together, now:

"Kum-Ba-Yah, my lord, Kum-Ba-Yah...."

You know the rest.

Feel the love.

Many on here feel that way about fighting Al Qaeda, who hated us anyway for our support for Israel.

I'm sorry, but I'm having a really bad day. There is just too much negativity.

As a result, I am having difficulty understandig you post. I know it has something to do with AlQaeda, but I'm not sure what it all means.

Could you explain it to me again?

Sorry to be so dense.

24. DU built the ignore feature for a reason
it's use is actively encouraged for the purposes of civility. However you are correct, it is against the rules to state you are putting someone on ignore.

28. Or Even
that you have put them on ignore.

I personally do not feel "attacked" (which is the actual violation DU cites) when someone posts that they are putting me on their ignore list.

I just go on with my life, and let them go on with theirs.

It is apparently not, however, considered an attack against another person to say that that person has put you on her/his ignore list.

THAT has me baffled.

8. Believe me...I got it...I've spent 3 and 1/2 years
in a state of OUTRAGE. I've gone through all of the phases. NOW is the time to be as optimistic, positive, and innovative as we've ever been. I'm going to throw every ouunce of energy I have supporting the democratic ticket. When people get negative...my mission is to counter with the positive. Jesus Christ! Don't we get enough bullshit from the media, freepers, etc.? YOU NEED TO GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

23. THREE AND A HALF YEARS?
I am fifty-two years old.

I lived through eight whole years of RIchard Nixon and Gerald Ford as president.

I lived through eight years of Ronald Reagan as president.

I lived through four years of George H.W. Bush as president.

Here's a suggestion:

Don't live your entire live in a state of OUTRAGE!!!!

It's not good for your health or your spiritual well-being.

It makes you insist that other people be positive and sunny.

And it causes people to use profanity and scream at people who are on the same side poltically and who are most likely friends.

I would hate to see that happen to anyone here on DU.

26. I agree....
the corporate state run Cable TV news is already Goreing Kerry. They are spinning all events to be a negative for Kerry and are picking up on every attack by Bush (i.e., flip flopper) and completely ignoring Bush's own problems (i.e., his flip flopping on the issues). I dont have a good feeling about this election. Right after the Bush/Gore debates in 2000 I realized that the media had made up its mind and was going to do everything they could to put chimpy in the WH....i see the same thing happening already.

:-)
