"Ever work weekends because you need the money? Ever come in early because you're saving for your children's college or caring for your elderly parents?

The bottom line is, if you and your family count on the overtime pay you sweat and struggle to earn, I have bad news for you.

Let me give it to you straight: George W Bush thinks he can pay back his campaign contributors by picking your pocket - and the worst part is he thinks
you'll just sit there and take it.

Show him he's wrong - show him he can't roll right over you and your families.

Join with me to fight President Bush's attempt to deny millions of Americans their hard-earned overtime pay.

On March 31, the Bush administration proposed changing the current rules that guarantee that workers must be paid time-and-a-half when they work for more than 40 hours a week. Under their plan, anyone making more than $22,100 a year could be denied overtime if they are classified as professional, administrative or executive employees.

If President Bush has his way, as many as eight million Americans - including fire fighters, police officers, paramedics, nurses, and store supervisors - will be denied the pay their families count on to put food on the table or save for college and a home.

Tell George Bush he's wrong - and warn him you're going to hold him accountable. Tell him that you're a patriot who knows that when our nation's security is at risk we depend upon our first defenders and it's wrong to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy on the backs of workers who are called upon to work harder and longer than ever before.

The paychecks of millions of workers are at stake. Join me to oppose President Bush's plan for lower pay, longer hours, and unpredictable work schedules.
Let's demand that President Bush abandon his plan to gut our nation's overtime law."

5. There is also a petition that has been running since the vote at
the AFL/CIO or the IBEW site, con't remember which. This should NOT be made political.

7. Political, you say?
Bush and his corporate cronies are out to deny workers every dime they can. Their greed for more and more profits evidently knows no bounds.

Your damn right it is political. Sign both petitions--I have!
