"Hollywood is no place for dishonesty." Camille Paglia re: Michael Moore |
|
Yes, she actually said this, regarding the part in Moore's movie where he supposedly "staged" the scene where he opens the bank account and gets a gun. Glad to know there's someone out there defending the virtues and morals of our american Babylon.
The interview (today on C-span) was entertaining, but I think Molly Ivins was on target when she said that Paglia's work consists of generalizations and little else. She also said Limbaugh is a genious and Drudge is a great performance artist. Go figure.
p.s. and Coulter is a "brillian mind".

liver transplant. Wonder how many lives Camille has saved.
I'm really so sick of these adolescent-minded icons who figure out that the best way to get attention and fame is to figure out what liberal, fair-minded people are saying and say the opposite.
I think there is a special place in hell for them

2. Is that self-promoting hag still around? |

She is just an intellectual lightweight- Marshall McLuhan with a severe head injury. She used to spend a lot of time bitching about elitism in the academy, but was never willing to give up her cushy tenured position. I can't believe I've actually devoted this much time to ranting about such an insignificant creature...

She talks so damn fast. She's an entertaining figure, but I rarely agree with her.

I never thought of that.
I'll never think of her the same way again.
She said she was anti-drug, but drinks. I think she's just manic. That's why I posted her comment on Moore, she gets going so fast and can't contain what comes out of her mouth. That was one of the more ridiculous things she said. I think she goes on the philosophy that "there's no such thing as bad publicity" and realizes if she pisses off liberals and feminists (oddly, she referred to herself several times today as one) she'll get press.

Ala Dennis Miller. Hang it up, Camille--it's over. You used to be sort of interesting, now you're just pathetic.

10. What has Camille done lately except shill for the wingers? |

I haven't heard so much pseudo-intellectual crap coming out of a person's mouth as I have lately heard from her (and Ann Coulter). How do these people pass themselves off as serious scholars?
