It's happening all over the place...the end is near...
Edited on Sat Mar-20-04 07:58 PM by TruthIsAll
With the $100 million Medicare scandal, with the Plame outing, with no end to the war in sight, with the 9/11 victims and Clinton/Gore and others getting ready to pile on Bush in front of the 9/11 Commission, with the unemployed falling through the cracks, with the market dropping, with deficits growing, with Global Warming a reality to all but the dummy Bush, with the Coalition of the Willing a faded memory, with returning soldiers deserting and willing to go on trial using the Bush desertion as a defense, with Howard Stern and Don Imus bashing Bush daily, with the Diebold BBV scam-to-be all over the media, with Clarke about to go on 60 Minutes Sunday placing the 9/11 failure on Bush's lap, with Ken Lay about to be indicted, with Henry Waxman preparing a fool-proof case against BushCo (on Enron, Iraq, Medicare, etc.), with ex-CIA bashing Bush, with the phony Iraq intel commission dead in the water, with the Democrats more energized than ever, with lifelong Kansas small-business Republicans about to jettison Bush, with VFW and ex-military appalled at the loss of benefits, with David Kay telling Bush to come clean, with Hans Blix describing how Bush ignored his attempts to avert a war, with US/UK spying on the U.N. just before the war a proven fact requiring the UK to drop all charges against the whistleblower (Gun), with John McCain sending signals to his fellow Republicans that they better get off the sinking ship, with Kerry getting ready to speak Truth to Power....

I would say...

6. from your lips to god's ears..........
i luv the scenario you've laid out, but i'm genuinely concerned that we get our message out.

i was listening to callers on a local fm station this morning on a program called "community focus", and as an african american, i was disturbed at the number of african american callers who are falling for the "flip-flopper" crap, and saying that they support this misadministration. i'm hoping that it's just a temporary rally due to the recent attacks in madrid, but so many people get all their news from tv & radio.

i'm also hopeful that once senator kerry returns from vacation, that he'll come out swinging. we've gotta keep the opposition on defense.

8. The anger is out there and it is real......
.....EVERYWHERE I go, the gas station, the supermarket, the bank, just out on the streets or in the parks. I have never seen so many strangers willing to jump into conversations BASHING BUSH*!

Bush*, thy name is TOAST! :toast: :)

9. I've noticed that too
A week or so I was getting lunch at a Wendy's and everybody behind the counter was ranting about how much they hated Bush* and wished him ill.

12. Yesterday I went to the gas station, the guy on other side of the pump....
.....started by saying "Two thirty nine a gallon for regular and it's not even summer yet!", I mentioned that oil had just hit $38 a barrel, (read it here on DU) The two people at the next pump over both heard that and jumped in talking about how we had to get Bush* out of office for the sake of the country. Another person leaving the Quick Stop was walking by and heard the conversation, stopped and joined in and we all stood there talking in total agreement for the next few minutes. Afterward I stopped at a local grocery store and the 3 people standing nearest the register were all bashing the boy king wondering aloud how we were going to rid ourselves of him in November! I brought up BBV and DU and they all wanted to know more. I gave them the URLs and told them to check it out. I also told them about the Bev Harris/BBV article in the April Vanity Fair. Two of the three picked it up right then and there at the checkout. I then stopped at the local Safeway to pick up some film my wife had dropped off and was approached by a guy with a petition. He started in about the state of everything since Bush* took office and we were quickly joined by 3 more people all of whom are thoroughly disgusted by Bush*! Everywhere I go that seems to be the subject of all of the conversations. :)

Better yet, a good friend who I work with often doing staging, lighting and sound work had a gig on Thursday doing lights and sound for a famous opera singer performing at a party for a business round table group in Silicon Valley. When he got back he was absolutely shocked at the conversations all of which were about how bad the economy was, how much money they were losing and how to get Bush* OUT OF OFFICE ASAP! Most of these people voted for him in 2000!

There is no 'effin way he can win an honest election this year.

16. Wow, PP, that post has energized me!
I bought a DIY button/name badge kit. I wore one a few times and everyone got a good look at it. I want to make a variety of them so I can pin one to my clothes when I go out. I can swap out the message whenever I like. They aren't as "cool" as premade buttons but I can get a lot of text on them and it's cheap.

After reading your post, I'm ready to fire up my printer!

Well Done P.Pat!!

11. Yeah, but
there were people driving past the Cincinnati rally giving thumbs down signs. I guess I should be grateful they weren't screaming "f**k you" out their car windows.

Maybe I just have unreasonable expectations, but how there can be anyone who hasn't been on life-support the past 4 years who still supports Bush is beyond my ability to imagine.

14. you're forgetting one teensy weensy little fact . . .
BUSHCO OWNS THE FRIGGIN' VOTING MACHINES! . . .

I have no doubt that Kerry will get more votes than Bush . . . but I have major doubts that the results reported will reflect that fact . . .

it's not who votes that counts . . . it's who counts the votes! . . .

15. True. I forgot that caveat. I always include it.
But realistically, I don't think it will happen, because Bush will be so far behind by the election, any Diebolding of the votes will be obvious.

And whether the Repukes can prevent a paper trail ballot is still an open question. Personally, I think they are going to be forced into doing it. Too much light is shining on Diebold, ESS, etc. It will become a major campaign issue, in which JFK can only gain much support - if he fights for it. And he will, otherwise he deserves to lose.

By November, Bush job approval should go below 40%. Kerry will be ahead by at least 10% in the polls. Only massive polling fraud will keep Bush near 50%. We will soon find out.
