10 Days Till Air America! |
|
I can hardly wait! After yesterdays Guy James broadcast, I already feel starved for more liberal radio today. At least there's Peter Werbe on Sunday nights.
Watching C-Span's show last night with the political comedians on was so difficult. That one right leaning Dem had me wishing I could reach into the tv and shake him like a rag doll. He kept dominating the event with anti Dem comments and was saying how Air America would go nowhere. Sheesh.
Ten day count down to --- Live from New York - it's Randi Rhodes!

5. I'm not getting my hopes up.... |
|
Rhodes is the only proven broadcaster.
And without Malloy, the lineup doesn't seem aggressive enough to me.
I don't feel especially compelled to get on the computer to hear any of them other than Rhodes, which I already do via WJNO.

8. you have to start somewhere |
|
i heard that franken signed on through the election. and from what i've heard of garofolo when she's been a radio guest, she sounds articulate and sharp. so i wouldn't count her out. randi had to start somewhere, too, after all. and jg sounds to me like she has the makings for some good radio.
i miss malloy, too. he said he's working on something with some people. i'm holding out hope he'll be on the air somewhere, perhaps the net, before the election. being retired, it makes no difference to me if it's streaming or the regualr radio.
i'mn throwing my whole hearted support behind air america because the people behind it are putting lots of money into this.

9. The point however is that now these voices can be heard |
|
by the general public. While they are broadcasting in traditional liberal bases, they are making noise in terms of media coverage about the new network, about the idea in general and this shoudl encoursage some people to listen. Hopefully the thing will grow into some more stations (hello...Boston!) and the truth will start making it out over the airwaves finally.

I liken it to my finding Dem Undergound. You bump up against your own thoughts out there in a public venue and it gets you on fire.

13. I think right now it on AM in SF, LA, Chicago, NY & Boston... |
|
Washinton DC should be a must in the near futeure and there should be more mid American cities (Denver, KC, etc.) and the south, Atlanta, New Orleans , Dallas. We'll have to support it by listening and it will grow.
