CBS Showing Basketball Game - While 60 Minutes Waits |
|
Does this tell us something about the nation's prioritys? CBS continues a god damned basketball game when what may very well be the most important TV show if the decade is delayed. Why not just show a god damned NASCAR race?

3. Look on the bright side. |

It is hard to get a better lead-in than the basketball game that is currently on. It appears to be a heck of a game. Let's hope all of the people watching it leave the TV on!

6. Yeah. this would have been a damn good game to watch! |
|
If the tale-end is any indication this was an excellent cliff-hanger game.

4. I disagree. 60 mins always does this. |
|
And has for years. The show will come on. If they cut the BB game, we'd likely have fewer viewers.
Don't worry.

8. I know - it's totally pissing me off!! |
|
Is this being done on purpose?? The only reason my television is on is to see 60 minutes and I really HATE basketball.
Anyone want to take bets that there will be major interruption sometime during the broadcast for some sort of "National Security Briefing?"

9. This is always is the case |
|
During the football season, 60 Minutes always is delayed.
They do not dare interupt any game, they are deathly afraid of another "Heidi" incident.

Chill out and stop being a conspiracy nut. I would hate it if they cut out on the game I was watching (which I was.) It sucks that the cats lost!!

14. It was worth sitting through college basketball (barf) to see Clarke |
|
... because he eviscerated most of the upper echelon of the Junta de Smirko -- especially "Uncle" Donald Rumsfeld, Paul "PNAC" Wolfowitz, and the utterly stupid "Doctor Dumbass" Condolleeza Rice. If Chimpy McFlightsuit had a pair, he would've fired at least a few people on Sept. 12, 2001...

15. What was the problem with this? They're not going to cut away from |
|
the end of a live game to show an interview that they had in the can for days. As a plus, it ensured a large lead-in audience for the Clarke interview. Since other networks had already began airing their 7:00 pm shows, the audience would stick with 60 Minutes. This is by design, not by accident. CBS controls the start times of games, and they know most every game is just about two hours long. It would be easy for them to ensure that the games are over before 7:00.
You're right, it was an extremely important interview, but what you really should be arguing is that CBS News should have aired it as soon as they had finished it. Instead, they held it at least for a few days to show it on 60 Minutes. (Besides, I like college hoops a lot, and those were great games late today!)

|
WCBS News Radio 88 AM out of NYC does a simulcast of 60 Minutes. I got to hear 60 Minutes at 7p even though I could not watch it until the game ended.
