Yeah, yeah, I know, they are still corporate media and all that. But hear me out.
I believe their plan to overtake Fox News and return to prominence is to be on the forefront in the whole "Bush Knew" 9/11 Commission story. They know that Fox won't touch this with a ten foot pole until they have to, so I think they are positioning themselves to be THE station to turn to for information when this story really blows up.
Evidence? They showed the entirety of both days of public testimony, without commerical interruptions. No other news network did this, as far as I am aware of, and Fox News tried to pretend like it didn't even exist.
Essentially, I think CNN wants to make this story their next Gulf War, which (for those who don't know) catapulted CNN to prominence in the first place. They need another such event where they can be in the forefront, and this story is shaping up to be just that. Its all about business, but in this case the implications are good for us and good for the truth.
Am I crazy? Disillusioned? Hopelessly optimistic?

No I think Ted Turner (Mad Prophet) came up with the idea in the late '80's, early '90's to go along with his other cable channels. Gulf War I simply made it famous. Certainly not as old as Watergate.

Fox News needs to be taken down a peg or 2, or 3 or 4. :D As Jon Stewart said: "I love Fox News, every country should have their own Al Jazeera!"

They are all babble fish -- aiding and abetting the flying monkeys. Not once in the past 7 days did they speak to the issues raised by Richard Clarke -- one of the last strands of DNA capable and willing to tell the truth. Instead they used their time and power to perpetuate the lies.
If it wasn't for Chris Mathews' upcoming interview with Clarke tomorrow, I would pull the plug on my cable subscription now.

And I don't entirely trust him, but Lou Dobbs is at least addressing some of the more glaring failures of the Bush* administration, and he doesn't appear to be an apologist.
The rest of 'em...hell, look at the lineup. Those two fluffbunnies in the morning, followed by Daryn Kagan (she might qualify, but she lets huge Rethug whoppers whiz on by too often), those IDIOTS in the afternoon who don't have a brain between them so they struggle to be 'personalities', Woodruff, Blitzer, that oh-so-edgy Cooper, Zahn, King, Brown...it's like a Who's Who of drunken pirates.

I honestly don't think that CNN cares that they can't compete with FAUX for conservative viewers, and this is really the key to understanding them.
It's all about furthering the corporate interests of AOL/TW. The Schneiders, Crowleys, Woodruffs, Blizters et al are nothing more than cutouts for continuing GOP rule in this country. They don't care about ratings or journalism, they care about their corporate profits. If they did care about ratings or journalism, you'd NEVER see a Bill Schneider masquerading as a neutral political analyst.
For God's sake, this is the network that continues to employ Bob Novak, even after committing treason by outing a CIA agent!
They'll whitewash this, and the inevitable further Bush* scandals. Mark my words.

I'm glad I missed that, too. I'd rather suffer through the People's Court than watch Wolfie, but behavior like that is entirely predictable from him.

Yes, you're crazy--and disillusioned--and hopelessly optimistic.
All you have to do is sit down and watch CNN. Read some of the latest threads about Bill Schneider. CNN is absolutely appalling.

Look, I'm just as exasperated as all of you here with the current state of affairs. The only glimmer of hope I find is whenever I'm extremely annoyed with the cabal of neocons who have overtaken the executive, legislative, judicial branches of government as well as the media. . .I visualize John Kerry taking the oath of office on the steps of our Capital. Maybe we could share the same dream

Right, I know, that's up here in Canukville, but they even covered the short spots that CNN jumped in with something else now and then.
And
CNN just pissed me off by cutting of Kerry's(live) speech in CA to talk about some trial, Liberty Lady, and other stuff that could have waited . .

CNN is worldwide, like BBC, AP and Reuters The answers to the unanswered questions we all have (and remedy to the nameless fears being circulated in this Crusade of George W. Bush et al) are scattered over the world.
Everyday individuals that have had serious doubts about the real agenda of the neo-conservative traitors are shedding light into the shadow government's treasonous lies.
The truth is coming out piecemeal, drip, drip, drip. It needs to be broadcast here and CNN could well be part of that. How it will be presented, and by whom, is being worked out.
There has been a coup, of sorts, the unthinkable has happened in the United States of America and our rallying point is OUR Constitution-which is US--not conformity to authority that has been stolen, nor adherence to PATRIOT ACT and similar "law".
That is just my opinion, of course. I've held it since 12-12-2000. I would take accusations of being nuts in stride- because each news cycle contains more confirmation and support of my (and others) beliefs that the once unthinkable has happened since the George W. Bush administration was installed.
Occam's razor, and all that...
