CNN is running a headline about a "college student" that has been found. I know nothing about this wildly unimportant "story." No pictures of the 9 americans who died today in our war. But somehow a white college student matters out of 360 million people, a recession, two wars, medicare crimes...ugh.

CBS is the only network that has anything going for it. If the good hats at the CIA have any pull at any network, it is CBS. My father watches it and at least it provides him with a vague idea of the severity of our situation.

CNN is the enemy of freedom. Propaganda is not only what they tell you that is not true, it is also what they don't tell you that is true. And how don't they tell you, by focusing on cute adorable white college students.

Kill your television before it kills you. Or at least fear that loathesome beast.

They certainly don't overrun serious international news if they are given mention at all. Suburban "tragedies" are way over reported. We always heard about the shootings in suburban schools, but not once did an inner city school shooting make a national news headline for any period of time, much less five days or more.

The story was on the Today Show this morning and most other news channels last night. It really did not deserve that much attention--especially when, rather than missing, dozens were killed yesterday alone with handguns.

20. They did run a story about Fallujah -

quite a long one, including footage of one body being dragged out of a car and others hanging from a bridge, on whatever program was on when I got home from work - Paula Zahn, I think. I was surprised at how graphic and pictures were and was kind of impressed until they said it was the work of insurgents (as opposed to, say, the local residents) and made out like it's just in this one area, where people want a Saddam-like regime.

They're running it again right now.

21. I stopped watching TV after 9/11. I don't miss it AT ALL.

I have a life. I also have DU and other web sites to get information and news from.

TURNING OFF YOUR TELEVISION IS A REVOLUTIONARY ACT. You are not "more informed" for watching it, you are simply "more brainwashed." But it isn't because of your choice of information sources that makes turning off the TV a "revolutionary" act. It's the fact that you are NO LONGER SUBJECT TO COMMERCIAL MANIPULATION.
