& can't forgo my sleep any longer! Loved that first hour & seems like I'm going to be listening to Air America's 'archives' on a regular basis! Loved Jaeneane since I first caught her stand-up on some dodgy late-night show & then of course Larry Sanders.

10. Problems Getting Air America

I TRIED to listen to Air America today, but the link didn't work, I finally got a link to work, but it was terribly unstable, stayed up for all of 10 minutes, part of which was dead air since they don't play any music when they are doing their commercial/station identification break....

I wish I could have heard all of the shows, or even part of "the O'Franken Factor"

I can say that i listened to Randi in the past and she is great, but I didn't hear what happened today.... I will try again tomorrow....

I wish they would ad Mike Malloy to the line-up, I miss him something fierce!

14. Same problems

I had nothing but trouble with the O'Franken factor, I couldn't get a reliable stream until well into the second hour. And a lot, like 20+ minutes out of the first hour were dead air. They have to do something about that.

Though what I did hear of the show wasn't terribly impressive, nor did it leave me that optimistic. They had Al Gore, Michael Moore, Chuck D and Bob Kerrey, but after listening to them, I wasn't as excited as I thought I would be. They can't get many bigger stars and they can't do this everyday.

I also found the Tomasen stuff petty, and a more substantive interview with the principal would have been better. And the Coulter crap was just plain immature, and it would have been funny for a bit, but they brought it up way too much and even made Michael Moore a part of it. Maybe it's just not my kind of comedy.

20. Air America Radio has a variety of formats and styles for different folks.

Personally, I like Garofalo's style the best so far, but haven't really heard the O'Franken show just yet.

but some of the dead air might be related to copyright issues. I've listened to other streaming audio shows (local radio) in the past and there is filler music when the commercials come on.

I may be wrong though - it could be happening for other reasons.

The intro/faux voice over announces Colmes as "fair and balanced"--and it's not presented as irony. Alan then gets to his "top story"--the abduction. He has a lengthy discussion with a faux news reporter about whether it was an abduction or not. Then, a quick rant on Janet Jackson's "moronic" appearance on Letterman and cut to a break.
