Trial Ballon: Blackout images from Iraq
Here we go again. More censorship! Nightline just aired debate about censoring images coming out of Iraq in light of the events in Fallujah today.

Nightline is a mouthpiece of the right, Herr koppel made his name during the REAGAN SUBSIDIZED AND SUPPORTED Tehran embassy hostage plot which managed to subvert Carters presidency and brought in the neo cons who's literal oofspring are now destroying our society.

2. I'm not a big Koppel fan, but...
I don't think he plays ball with the VRWC troupe. He often takes on thorny subjects and is not afraid to inject his opinion. He also is usually pretty clear about what his opinions are verses the facts. Koppel is the next best thing to 60 minutes.

Also, just because he made his career covering the Iran Hostage Crisis doesn't mean he was complicit in the nefarious plot by the Republicans in the Reagan campaign to delay the release of the hostages until after the 1980 election. I watched Koppel pretty much every day in 1979 and 1980, and he delivered sobering and frank reports on the ongoing crisis. I'd need to see some evidence of his complicity in the Republican's treasonous acts before associating him with such a wicked deed.

3. In the name of "decency"
Censorship so people won't get fired up. Probably using the same reasons why they didn't show soldier's bodies coming home.

I'm hoping to see Eric Blumrich make a video of Bush's jokes about missing WMDs while showing the bodies of the contractors and soldiers in a split screen view. C'mon I don't care about my idea being taken, this would be a GREAT vid to send to Neocons.

4. I saw quite a few anti-bush anti-war pieces on Nightline
Perhaps you don't watch so often and only catch the other stuff. Sometimes I thought Ted would be arrested for saying the things he did right in the middle of the "war".

5. Koppel's been pretty tough on Bush, imho.
Tougher than one would expect a media whore to be.

I do agree, and my stomach is still turning, that this might have been a "trial balloon." Censor images, and you censor passion, feeling, and righteousness.
