Clear proof that the CNN/Gallup Bush Job Rating poll is biased!
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 12:55 AM by TruthIsAll
CNN/Gallup: has * higher in 30 of 38 months vs. the average of 10 other polls.

The average Bush CNN/Gallup job rating for 38 months is 64.92%
The average for 10 other Polls is 62.54%
The difference of 2.38% is significant.

The bias has increased over the last 7 months as Bush has dropped below 50%. Over this period, CNN has Bush at a 55% average. The other 10 pollsters have him at 51.26%, an even larger 3.74% deviation. The current Bush trend reversal is a joke. Something is afoot.

CNN 10 diff
55 51.9 3.1
54 51.9 2.1
63 55.6 7.4
60 53.9 6.1
51 49.5 1.5
49 48.4 0.6
53 47.7 5.3

Average
55 51.26 3.74

The most recent CNN poll has Bush at 53%, up from 49% a few weeks ago. This is a sign of desperation and an obvious attempt to fool the public into thinking that Bush is gaining popularity at Kerry's expense. Bush should now be at 47% based on the trend and Clarke's destruction of his phony "War President" image. And the Medicare scandal is percolating.

Check this thread which has Bush 38 month job ratings for the 11 polls:

2. Why CNN's Sharp Shift???
Besides the regular corporatewhore stuff...which is a granted...it seems CNN has really turned pro-regime over the past month, and especially with the Clarke testimony.

I've seen those polls and are very suspect to both the questions used and how they were conducted. They're very out of whack with Zogby and are being interpreted as being so bad for Kerry, while it's Bunnypant's numbers that have eroded significantly in recent months.

Part of me says its that the RNC is making such huge purchases of air time and giving their reporters "special access" and sucking up to stay in the good graces on whom the corporate bosses expect will be the winner. Yep, they're convinced the fix is in...but why be so blantant and do it in such a sharp way???

8. Never Was "Free" in Free Press
Ever price out a paper or a broadcast station? Those who got the gold make the rules. Now to see if the adage the noisiest wheels get the grease trumps that rule.

Cheers

3. better yet - he %65 scam
%65 of those polled said that clarks revelations did not change their opinion of bush.

well, a good %50 of the people already have a low opinion of Bush. so of the remaining %50, %35 of those were swayed. To me that says that only %15 of the people still support Bush.

Some sheeple care more about what everyone else thinks than what they think themselves.

Voting for the winning team, or voting for the Underdog can play a big part, especially when neither candidate really stands out.

I'm hoping that American's have gotten so used to fast paced change that there will be a tendancy to vote for change any time job satisfaction is below 60% or so.

5. These phony polls ARE important, though..
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 01:15 AM by SoCalDem
The "message" that "ordinary people" get , is that Bush is "THE man", because so many people say so..

They are not paying attention.. But they do hear snippets here and there, and might read a little in the paper..

The Bush-gang NEEDS for the perception to be that Bush is a teensy bit ahead.. Why??

D I E B O L D and E S & S ..

They will "tweak" the numbers in some "close" states to get JUST enough to win...and to avoid the masses in the streets like Venezuela, it MUST appear to be CLOSE.. That's why the polls are so important..

We know he's an idiot,,, They KNOW that we know he's an idiot..But it won't matter one bit when he "squeeks" another one.. 2002 proved that people would still not revolt.. We just shook our heads and said.. "Wow..that was too bad about Cleland", and went on our merry way.. The Dems did not DEMAND recounts and press the issue in the courts, so they now have a clear field ahead for 2004..

THAT'S why these bogus polls matter :(

10. That's exactly the problem

And that is exactly what is wrong; most people don't spend more than five minutes per day actually researching the issues, or even reading the research of others. A friend of mine was saying how "single mothers on welfare just have lots of kids to get more money," and I came in to school the next day with pages of stats disproving her. Her response? "I don't really care about this that much." But she'll still vote Repub because "the poor are stealing her money!"
