George Bush said he was disturbed by the decision to cut oil supplies. Yet, it was the Saudi Oil Minister that pushed the cut through. Given the very close relationship between the Bush family and the Saudi Royal Family, I doubt this. Disturbed by it?????? I don't think so. I got two theories: 1) He really doesn't care. 2) He has a deal with the Saudi's where the prices go up for a brief time and then he "talks" them into agreeing to increase production and lower prices.
Any other thoughts?

Higher crude prices make Iraqi oil production more valuable and help fund corporate if not US taxpayer paid for efforts there. (You know these guys are dreaming of the day that they can say Iraqi oil is paying for reconstruction at least --- "see we were right all along".) Of course it also rains windfall profits on all his oil buddies. More of his "Robin Hood in reverse" agenda. And while it is hard to defend OPEC's actions, remember that * has devalued the hell out of the dollar and a big percent of the rise in crude prices merely offsets that drop.
Of course * has to pretend like he is upset about it (and if he thought that it threatened his reappointment, he might actually get upset)... and point the finger of blame somewhere else. Too bad he doesn't have some "dress up" suit for the part.
But this is only part of the scam. At least where I live (CA), gas prices have been at higher than usual ratios to crude prices (although the ratio changes all the time as crude fluctuates). Our oligarchs have very little to fear from this guy.
Maybe * can get prices to drop before the election, but I suspect that many OPEC members would like to see him go... some at least must be tossing and turning as they sleep on their piles of money... because they can't help thinking who's next. If * or his proxies don't get them, the terrorists might.
Of course all this is highly inflationary, but *'s boys will keep lying to us about it until after the election at least. The election is what these people really care about now and they will do or say anything to keep the lid on until then.

4. That is right the dollar is off like 30% so in value oil should go up |

Heck Bush does not want that known. I am sure these countries dealing in dollars for oil are just crying to leave and go with the Euro. I am sure that was half Iraq trouble, it did. I read it was one of the things that is keeping us going and it would be a depressing if we lost the world market in oil not trading in dollars.Be interesting to know what China is dealing with as their oil buying has increased

and OPEC wins. Bush is glad about this, he will try and push through an emergency energy plan with broad public support before the summer recess. The plan will include drilling ANWAR in Alaska. Makes him look like a mover and a shaker and makes all his oil buddies rich. It also enables him to further rape the environment, which is his favorite pastime.
