George Will on Imus (HELP ME)
George Will was on IMUS a few minutes ago and was cautioning people (i.e., liberals) not to be cocky about getting Condi up in Front of congress because (I am para-phrasing here):

"The last time this happened they were picking pieces of the panel of the floor"

He was referring to Oliver North's testimony.

I am not bright of a guy, however, didn't Oliver North lie to congress?????? Of course you will win every argument if you are willing to lie! Aren't these guys suppose to have a modicum of intelligence.

Help, Help, I am going nuts out here.

and was quite gung ho about subverting the Constitution. Of course he was indicted and found guilty for lying about that but got his conviction overturned by a partisan hack Judge.

Remember, Ollie is a crook and will always be a crook...

As far as Condi...She may be able to bust out her Girl Scout Uni from her pre-teen days but it might not fit.

Ollie lied.

Is George Will

a) not as informed on history as he thinks he is.
b) selectively left that out and thinks that most of us are real dummies.
c) really just an idiot.

5. Remember this...
This country is mired in fake conservatisim.... A real Conservative would be appalled at the circumvention of the Constitition and the fakes are constantly trying to change it... The fakes look at the constitution as being there to manipulate only if it benefits them. That is why Ollie is embraced the way he is by these fakes... They think his fight against the Contras was a noble cause no matter how he did it. George Will is a fake!

6. Ollie was a smooth operator.
Of course, he was a liar, etc., as well.

Condi is not smooth.

8. yes, he was smooth and very popular for his 15 minutes
I remember that he wrapped himself in the flag as his defense and that went over pretty well at the time. Yes, he was a liar and patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel, but there is no denying he was popular when he testified.

9. North had full immunity from prosecution when he 'testified.'
Of course, he lied. He was immune to prosecution.

Apples and oranges, George!

10. A technicality kept Ollie from jail
It's the thing that drives the right wing wacky...those pesky technicalities that keep criminals out of jail. All charges(he was found guilty of a number of criminal charges)were overturned due to his immunity at the hearings. He got due to a technicality.

11. Picked up a couple other things on Imus---did you notice
First he was reading from the front page of the W. Post and totally ignored the great big front page story about Condi's speech she was to deliver on 9/11 which showed that they weren't even considering terrorism as an important subject---that's the nail in Condi's coffin and you can bet the Committee will be waving the papers in her face. Secondly, asshole Imus begins to tell how Will is one of the true straight talkers and not an ass kisser like Russert and a list of others. Oh, give me a break!! In fact will had 'desperation' on his breath all during that interview; thus the 'it might backfire on liberals' shit. He knows what's in the Post this morning and he knows it's the undressing of the broad. Will has permanent knee pads. It's a shame that dumb ass mouths like Imus' are allowed to spew forth daily like they are some great wise men!
