**Realplayer & Windows Media Player tips for Air America**

[Cooley Hurd]

I know a lot of people have been having problems w/ streaming Air America broadcasts, even when streaming from sites other than Air America's homepage, so I thought I'd post a few tips on player configuration to help out:

Realplayer config:
1) Click "Tools" and then "Preferences."
2) Click on "Connections" on the left side.
3) Press "Test connection" button (on the right side).
4) Follow instructions in the test window. This will test your connection speed and adjust it accordingly. If it doesn't do it for you automatically, change the "normal" and "maximum" settings (underneath the test button) manually to match, as closely as possible, your tested connection speed.
5) Click okay. This should do it for your RealPlayer...

Windows Media Player config:
1) Click "Tools" and then "Options."
2) Click on the "Performance Tab"
3) Deselect "Detect connection speed" by selecting "Choose connection speed."
4) Choose the connection speed that best reflects your true connection speed. (If you don't know your true connection speed, go to http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ and follow directions to test your speed).
5) Click "apply" and then "OK." This should solve your streaming problems with WMP.

2. Yep good tip for Real Player

I just had to lower my speed of connection, and that straightened it out. For audio like this 33kbps is more than enough folks. And you won't be sucking all their bandwith or flooding your own.

12. I went to tools and put the file locations into a made temp directory

and it works just fine now..I made the Directory first then made the file locations there

Real:

Preferences -> Transport -> RTSP and PNA settings -> make sure HTTP is selected

(this is the way it is on Mac, I think on Windoze you have to go to Network Preferences first)
