11. the whole site seems to be down, overload? or attack?
hopefully it was due to overload from an overwhelming response from the audience

7. For those who've missed it
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A40697-2004Mar31.html

Basically, Condi had a big National Security address scheduled for 9/11 in which she was to outline Bush's security plans for America. It was all about Star Wars, and did not even mention Al Q or OBL. They were apparently SOOOO focused on terra, they forgot to mention it in this policy address.

14. yeah, missle defense that is/was the big threat
we gotta stop those rogue states from lobbing intercontinental ballistic missles at us which are quite easy and plentiful in the open weapons market,
unlike say planes, fertilizer and ordinary household cleaning supplies that can be "inadvertently(outside the manufacturers intent therby lifting ANY liablitiy)" used to kill hundereds and thousands of people.

Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 09:43 AM by sparosnare
They're reporting (CNN) that it was just a speech - and Richard Clarke who WAS IN CHARGE OF TERRORISM gave a speech that day about computer hackers.
Funny, I thought Dick said Clarke wasn't "in the loop".

13. I know - and maybe I didn't make it clear
the words "Richard Clarke, who was in charge of terrorism on 9/11" came from the WH in response to the Condi speech story.

So I wanna know from the WH - which is it - was he in charge of terrorism or was he out of the loop????

8. WE NEED MISSILE DEFENSE
- CLINTON ADMINISTRATION PUT TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON TERRORISM

- CLINTON ADMINISTRATION SPENT WAY TOO MUCH MONEY ON ANTI-TERRORISM COMPARED TO MISSILE DEFENSE

- ADMINISTRATION WON'T RELEASE SPEECH BECAUSE IT WAS NOT GIVEN - PLEASE TOM KEAN SUPBOENA IT!

- WH SPOKESMAN BLATHERS ON ABOUT NOT WINNING WAR WITH SPEECHS, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.

16. Washington Post link
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A40697-2004Mar31.html?referrer=email

snip...

The question of whether the administration was properly focused on the terrorist threat before Sept. 11 is central to a building political storm in Washington, as a commission investigating the attacks prepares to take public testimony from Rice. Last week, President Bush's former counterterrorism chief, Richard A. Clarke, accused the administration of failing to take seriously enough the danger from al Qaeda -- a charge the White House strenuously disputes.

The White House declined to release the complete text of Rice's speech, since it was not given. The White House did confirm the accuracy of excerpts given to The Post, and former U.S. officials provided a detailed summary of the speech.
