Air America I love you.

I'm a old talk radio junkie. I love talk/news Radio, But I could not take it anymore. In my town of Philly the only major Talk radio is 24 hours a day RightWing-nuts talk hosts repeating the GOP's talking points. After Limbaugh & Hannity the local talk show hosts starts with their Bush azz kissing. All we get here is the Rights-wing view of the world. If it was not for internet radio I would have been lost. Yesterday for the first time in years I saw a beacon of light, and that light was Air America. I had it on all day yesterday and I found a home. Air America will now be my background sound in my home from this day forward.

I too used to listen to AM radio - until one by one - the non-RW shows, stations were bought/snuffed, castrated in the NYC area. (WEVD being the most recent casualty). WNYC is praising PNAC these days... So, thank you for saving my life! You rock!

But even their hosts are leaning more and more to the right these days. They are always very careful not to upset any Republicans that may be listening.

Here in Southern Colorado, we get nothing but Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingram, Laura Schlesinger, Michael Reagan, James Dobson, and a few local clones. And many of the syndicated shows are carried by more than one station!

Last night, my wife and I listeded to Janene Garofalo's show. It was a refreshing change. And we were both impressed with on of here guests, comedian Dave Chappelle. He's a great spokesperson for the left, too.

The only problem I had was the web link kept dropping out.....

Yes, I also have a problem with drop outs. Yesterday I ordered a GE Super Tuner III AM-FM radio. One of the best radios ever made at pulling in long distance stations. Hopefully with it I Will be able to pull in the NY city station, so I can listen when I'm at work.

After thought: WOW ! you really have it bad in Southern Colorado with that bunch to listen to all day. I feel your pain.

I been a member here since July 2003. I just been so depress about the direction Bush is taking our Country. And how the only voices being heard was the Right-wingnut media. I just did not post much, I kind of give up. Air America Radio just re-energize me and showed me I'm not alone in my beliefs

I hear ya. I'm another old talk radio junkie. When I was in college I spent my evenings listening to Jack McKinney on the old WCAU...one of the most amazingly wonderful talk show hosts of all time.

It does feel like part of those good old days are back again...people on the radio...well, in my case, on the internet...speaking truth to power. I heart Air America, and DU, and the internet. Ways to get things moving in a better direction.
