I woke up in heaven this morning
I awakened to the sound of liberal voices on the radio from Air America. I went to bed with the station on. I drove to work listening. Now I am listening at work. This has been an impossibility for ages. I am savoring it.

I don't care if I've heard a lot of the news before. I don't care if Franken is boring (as was said by some here yesterday). I don't care if Franken takes the O' out of his show's name. All I care about is that we have a steady voice in the American politcal landscape. I get excited at the possibilities: of interviews between liberals and CONs; of Air America being given widespread press when the CONs rail against them in an attempt to discredit them.

I can't wait to tell my friends about Air America.

1. Who knows something about radios?
I can't pick up AM from my office. I get FM just fine. Any suggestions? I have a little mini Grundig the size of a Walkman.

4. Try a different radio
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 10:55 AM by Gothic_Sponge
I have about 6 radios in my house. Some of them aren't cheap, but their AM reception sucks. The only radio that seems to work really good for me is an old Magnavox model# AE 3805.

7. AM is affected by electrical signals
Like florescent lights and computers and stuff. Try moving the radio farther away from your computer or nearer a window.

8. Oh. Then I'm screwed.
No windows. Airless cubicle in a high-rise. Many computers, fluorescents.

Now I think about it - what am I doing there!!?

11. Quit your job!
Who needs to pay bills when we have liberal radio! ;)

That sucks! Try giving another radio a try, or just wait until the virus problems are fixed.

2. Im with you. I only get the O'Franken Factor now, but I will enjoy
this station to the utmost.

In fact, I bought a high powered AM radio so I could get a signal without static.

Hey how bout "Frankly Franken" for a new show name ? :P

President Bush Legalizes Marijuana In America
Historic Executive Order to Take Effect on April 20

April 1, 2004

Washington, DC: In a move that astonished conservatives and liberals
alike, President George W. Bush issued a surprise executive order today
legalizing the possession and sale of marijuana in the United States. The
order will take effect on April 20, long considered marijuana smokers'
independence day.

When asked about the sudden change of heart, President Bush explained;
"The other night Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell and I were in the war room
mulling over how to sway public opinion on the war in Iraq. We were stuck
in the same rut of tired old ideas and were in desperate need of creative
new ways of thinking. That's when Karl Rove pulled out a fatty." While
Bush admitted that it had been 30 years since his last toke, he figured,
"Why not. I am the President. What can they do, arrest me?"

President Bush made the announcement in his weekly radio address, saying
that it's "high time" we reformed our marijuana policies. "The reality
is," said the President, "marijuana is far less dangerous than alcohol or
tobacco and far too many people have had their lives ruined after being
arrested for nothing more than a doobie.

HA HA april fools.

15. I have a whole new outlook on things . . . .
I love getting up, puttering in the kitchen, exercising and getting through paper at work, because I have Air America for company.

Of course, hauling my iBook around with me all over the house is a little unhandy, but it's worth it. :)

17. Smile.
Seriously, though, Clever Husband is experimenting with a program that will automatically download programs at preset times (TiVo for Streaming?) which we can then transfer to our iPods for portability.
