"Fox news" mocked the 4 dead US civilians yesterday
A friend at work told me that John Gibson & a guest were discussing the killings. Gibson said 'what were these guys THINKING driving around in a war zone in an American SUV without armed guards..' 'really stupid, wasn't it?' 'yeah..they deserve the Darwinian award'

The smell of patriotism at Fox.

3. Question ...
Were they really civilians ?
I heard them referred to on CNN as 'contractors' for some place called something like "Backwater Security Consultants" ...

Or were they really CIA Special Ops ??

9. Blackwater - and yes, private army (mercenaries)
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 11:21 AM by truthseeker1
Blackwater was founded by a former Navy Seal and the company isn't partisan (they will work for whatever country or organization hires them).

15. Rhetorical question ...
Then why is the media buying into all the Admin's whining about 'innocent civilians' and vows of 'retribution' ?

If these people were essentially hit men, 'scuse me for seeming
callous, but I'm glad they got nailed. We have no business farking
around over there, above or under the table.

4. It is unusual for them to do that
Wierd; but there have been similar comments here (although not nearly as boneheadedly inappropriate)--that they were mercenaries and they knew the risks and all (I doubt the first until I see proof, but the second is certainly true).

5. Um, you'd think a journalist would know this.
There was a report on the evening news last night about how LOTS of civilians are lining up trying to get jobs in Iraq. With the privatization of every fucking thing apparently all kinds of job oppurtunities are opening up in Iraq and the job market is so bad here that people are lining up to get those jobs. The dumb fucks at Fox wouldn't bother to know this, though. Welcome to Bush's America.

12. But I thought we "liberated" Iraq
and the people of Iraq love us for it. Why would "liberators" need to travel with armed guards?

And weren't those nasty people attacking us just dead-enders following the old regime, and weren't they supposed to cave in once Saddam was captured?

13. Uh, they WERE the armed guards
at least that is what I assumed is meant by "security specialists".

Fox hacks are unreal. Considering how these pansies shriek when someone calls them liars, what would they do if someone puts a pipe bomb up their tailpipe?

14. Funny how all the news agencies in the early 90s couldn't play the
"dragging of the bodies of soldiers" tape enough times. Even "liberal" CNN joined in the Clinton-bashing.

And yet no US TV stations will play the footage, nor the pictures, of the desecration of the bodies. Oh, Under Bush. There's that damnable "liberal media" again.

Not that I would want to watch either tape. Of course, if the media really was "fair and balanced", you would have equal treatment.

Now returning you to the "fair and balanced" attacks on John Kerry . . .

16. I really don't think you'd get the result you're hoping for
I think if the pictures were shown you'd get a reaction similar to 9/11 where the majority would support Bush in getting even tougher.

18. Wonder what they would have said...
If the dead were American evangelists trying to convert the dirt races to proper God-fearing people.

I'm sure that would change the spin.

I didn't coin the name but I sure think it's fitting.
