Daryn Kagan just apologized to Letterman for fake clip comments
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 12:02 PM by alg0912
She said the "WH called and said the clip (of a sleepy boy behind Shrub) was faked" comment she made the other day came from the CNN staff, (which I guess concluded for themselves that Dave's staff faked the clip) and not from the WH.

Busted! HA! :D

5. so ... did she admit the WH called them or not?
did she admit that CNN is just a big whoring media outlet of the White House?

8. David Letterman said from a "source" that the WH did call CNN.
We were cracking up over this last night. Now the whole thing is going in circles. LOL. He looked right at the audience and said "the WH called CNN" did you hear that? And on he went.

9. He has also said the other day:
"When you cast your vote in November, just remember the White House was trying to make me look like a dope"

10. This is hilarious!
I suspect the WH is actually running CNN, but CNN doesn't want us to know and won't admit it!

12. He actually said that?
"The WH called CNN" - did he say anything in response to this surprising fact.

15. Something like he might be dead or something (?) before next show.
It was funny, and the audience went wild. I just can not think of the words.

16. "I could be dead in the trunk of a rental car this time tomorrow"
something like that I believe. That was one of two jokes about his possible demise.

I liked the mafia-thug analogy.

11. It's MORE disturbing to me that CNN admits they did it on their own
They took it upon themselves to basically invent a story that made the Whitehouse look good.

I expect the big lies. However, it's the little ones like this that really get to me.

18. either way it's seriously fucked up.
whether the WH called them and told them what to say, or whether they did it on their own and LIED ABOUT IT instead, either way is just fucking disturbing as all hell.

"the most trusted name in news". HA! Eat shit, CNN

13. And Letterman will cover the latest chapter
on TONIGHT'S show. The story will live on, and either way, it PROVES that either CNN is NOT liberal, or worse is a tool of the bush administration.

19. THis is a rhetorical question....
WHAT IS IT GONNA TAKE to have the country wake up?

Those pictures yesterday and they go on and on about how we are doing well. I don't recall this stuff happening in Vietnam - an we REALLY brutalized those people there.

20. She should apologize to all of us
I wonder who made the decision that it's worse to admit they take their marching orders from the White House than it is to admit they're just making things up out of the blue and calling it news.

21. WHY would CNN outright LIE and say the tape was altered
unless they were spinning it for Bush's benefit?

Conclusive proof that CNN twists and tilts it's stories to make Bush look better than he is.

OR

The WH did call (as Letterman says he knows is true) and the WH is calling the shots on even the smallest of stories that CNN runs.

This is seriously fucked up.

22. Vindication - I sure as hell complained!
After I started the post that brought the subject to light immediately after it occured, I sent this email of complaint to CNN.....betcha' LOTS of other people were bitching about it too! They can't expect something like this to pass unnoticed and without comment!

Just goes to show 'ya that we CAN make a difference (sometimes) when we speak in unison.

==============================

David Letterman recently showed a clip of President Bush giving a speech with a tubby kid standing right behind him, bored out of his mind! The kid was antsy, looking at his watch, yawning and - I swear - literally sleeping where he stood. We're talkin' B-O-R-E-D!

As Dave told it on Tuesday night, CNN picked up the clip but at the end of it the CNN Talking Head added "The White House has informed us that the child was digitally added." NO HE WASN'T! Letterman threw a fit.

CNN showed the same clip later in the day but now a different Talking Head says "The White House has informed us that the child wasn't digitally added but the child wasn't standing where he was shown in the clip." THAT'S NOT TRUE EITHER! Letterman is now incredulous.

While Dave is ranting over the utter B.S. being promoted by CNN and - supposedly - the WH, Dave's producer cuts in to tell him "CNN just called to say the WH never made any comments about the clip."

WTF?

Are you people making it up as you go along?

Is this your version of journalistic "integrity"?

You owe your viewers a CORRECTION and an APOLOGY!

SHAME ON YOU!

I have to wonder how many OTHER stories you've blatantly skewed, distorted and/or fabricated.

SHAME ON YOU!
SHAME ON YOU!
SHAME ON YOU!

Clearly, your version of the news is NOT to be trusted. This is the kind of deception one might expect from FOX News but obviously you're no better!

I am obviously disgusted and outraged!
