Lawyer: 9/11 Panel Lacks Clinton Records

By MELISSA NELSON, Associated Press Writer

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks isn't getting a full picture of former President Clinton (news - web sites)'s terrorism policies because the Bush administration won't forward all of Clinton's records to the panel, a lawyer said.

Bruce Lindsey, Clinton's legal representative for records and a longtime confidant of the former president, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that only about 25 percent of nearly 11,000 pages have been turned over.

"I don't want (the commission) drawing the conclusion the Clinton administration didn't do X or Y and then there be a document that contradicts that and they didn't have access to that document because the current administration decided not to forward it to them," Lindsey said.

While presidential records are sealed by law for five years after a president leaves office, an exception was made to allow early access for the Sept. 11 commission. But the National Security Council and Bush administration attorneys decided to turn over just a fraction of Clinton's documents, Lindsey said....

1. Let me guess - the Clinton pages they're not releasing
contain anti-terror plans identical to what they're doing now.

2. Can these guys be any more obvious?
They say the did all they could. They say they were on top of things. They say terrorism was a high priority. They say they want to make sure this never happens again.

Yet, they continue to dodge the questions and the commission. It is so obvious that they don't want it known what really happened. How come more people don't see this?

3. Clinton should show up and OFFER to testify under oath..in public
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 07:13 PM by SoCalDem
He has nothing to hide..and he would really shine the light on the little roach in the corner, hiding behind his Daddy and Uncle Dick..

I am sure that if Clinton breezed in and offered testimony, no one would refuse him.. He has already given private testimony, but the fact that his records are being cherrypicked should be said OUT LOUD and BY HIM..

He could bring out things that have NOT been turned over , but should have been, and FORCE junior's hand..

5. LOL
This is serious, and obviously the regime is hiding under every rock they can find, but you are right about the Clinton-hating rw dopes - it'd be like that movie "Scanners," if he went before the commission and testified publicly.

Won't release all of Clinton's docs. Guess they're just now reading them for the first time.

I didn't think this would sink 'em, but its starting to boil, ain't it?

7. This commission is in place to white-wash the 9/11 complicity
from this administration....nothing more, nothing less. Once Condi, and then George and Dick testify, it's going to be all roses, all the time. They're going to enjoy a couple of months of free passes, and all the lying news organizations will swoon and purr about how bush did all he could to protect America, and how those bad FBI/CIA guys were just caught up in "big government" bureaucracy, and that's why big government is bad. "Big government killed 3,000 innocent Americans".

:wtf:

Then we'll hear about how we need to privatize the FBI and CIA. About at that point, the FBI/CIA folks will have had enough. They knew damn good and well bush/cheney MIHOP. And at that point, too, a drip, drip, drip will turn into a waterfall.

The rest of the world will respond like the greater part of America. And a new economic day will dawn as the lies about the economy ALSO start to come to the surface, and then OPEC switches to the Euro (and/or other currencies, possibly backed by gold).

I hope the bush administration enjoys the next couple of months, because when the asphalt starts getting hot in Georgia, there will be hell to pay.

So sayeth loudsue; so sayeth she.

Man! I hope that they get what's coming to them!

6. This needs to get out on the national news--it paints the picture of
bastards who are still trying to cover up everything they can. They hate cooperating and they just never can tell the truth. Do you think anyone will bring this to the general public's knowledge??

8. This needs to be brought up on Air America
Maybe I have too high hopes for the fledgling station, but right now, it's all we've got!
