Turned away at the polls!
How can that be avoided this elections year? Remember in 2000, many people were denied the right to vote, is it too early to think about that?

4. no .. it is true, the FL state police set up road blocks to black
communities on a peninsula till after the poles closed, people were denied to because they had unpaid traffic tickets..if they were in a precinct dominantly democrat. 10's of thousands were prevented because they had a name remotely similar to a felon.. etc etc i have a documentary on it.. email me i will dig it up if you are interested..

3. There were people who were actually denied the right to vote.
Here is a link to where a man in Florida was denied his right to vote.

6. Never too early!!!
You're right to be concerned, but I believe those that were affected

are angry enough not to take that b.s. any more. I think they've

been working on that problem in Florida since 2000, especially the

targeted, and disenfranchised black community.

We've all got to :kick:, and it's never too early!!!

10. We need to make sure that in Florida and Tenn especially the
voters get to vote. Gore would have won Florida by a landslide if legitimate voters had not excised from the roles. Floridians need to start a campaign whereby voters are encouraged to make sure they will be able to vote. Do not let Bush do the cheap trick again down there.

11. We checked out our registration
by voting in the primary. We only had one thing to vote for - the presidential primary, which was a done deal already, and so no real need to vote, but wanted to make sure we were registered and could actually vote, especially since we have recently moved since we last voted and we're in a new precinct.

After 2000, there were many, many tales of people who registered to vote at the driver's license office, and never received their voting cards until after the election.

14. I tried to register Motor Voter in Pensacola in 2000
After the woman processing the applications saw that I was a Democrat, I was told that there was "NO MOTOR VOTER" that day because "the computers were down in Tallahassee."

These applications are sent by mail to the local election officials - not to some computer in Tallahassee.

It was a transparent attempt to prevent me from registering to vote...

13. get closer to the enemy
The alleged "scrubbing" of voter rolls in Fla. in the 2000 Pres. election oddly enough, only affected Democratic felons or those that resided in predominately Democratic districts...apparently there are no repuke felons! is it possible that a Democrat could change his/her party affiliation before the 04 elections to avoid being accidentally "scrubbed" as a Democratic felon? Should such a devilish yet totally legal act be suggested? It might get these voters closer to the machines at least...
