Splinter Cell by X-Box Commercial
Has anyone seen this commercial yet? A group of young children reciting the Pledge of Allegience to scenes of Special Ops teams gunning down guerrillas to various jungle and urban scenes...

Am I surprised? Hardly. Am I appaled? Absolutely!

2. I prefer EA games
but ubisoft is number 2 for a reason..

They're based in rural france. It seems shoot-em-up games are a
global first world (military products exporting) countries thing..
not just a US one.

3. it's like the rainbow six 3 commercial...
with a girl sing "our country tis of thee" etc etc while some spec op goons are whacking russian insurgents. at the end of the commercial it says "freedom isn't free", which is a crock of shit, but anyhoo.

9. That commercial literally made me cry
I thought it was so disturbing, then everytime it came on after that I always rushed to change the channel. So sue me, I'm sensitive. But it really was a terrible commercial!

4. we are far along into this thing
we are three years post-crisis. it is clearer and clearer every day.

these ads are of course one of the best examples of what is happening. space age fascism! now available at 800 flashes per second!

they have a video game about this iraq war.

there's nothing else to say except you are correct.

6. I'm a gamer and I have a hard time with Tom Clancy games.
I don't know what it is about Clancy. I've read his books and played his games and I don't like either. The movies fell flat, too...even the ones with Harrison Ford.

I recently downloaded a mod for Battlefield: 1942 called "Desert Combat" which re-enacts the ongoing war (invasion?) of Iraq. I feel guilty for downloading it. I haven't played it much. I don't play Battlefield: 1942 very much because it's too much for my slightly obsolete computer. Whatever.

7. Splinter Cell is an AWESOME game....
Some of the best active shadowing and shading I have ever seen in a video game...playability and storyline are top of the heap.

Hard as hell, too, though!

Heyo
