Is is just me, or does Karen Hughes p*ss you off too? |
|
What is it about that woman that makes the bile rise? I thought we had seen the last of her, but maybe her family feels the same way I do. Could be a sign of desperation the w* brought her back.

7. It was so funny on TDS last night |
|
where she was saying (this is from memory, so...)
"And we have you to thank, Jon, for one of the best soundbites of the campaign season! Where John Kerry was snowboarding, going back and forth, and you said 'There he goes, back and forth, first he votes for 87 billion, then he votes against it, first he votes for the war, then he votes against it' hahahaha!"
And Jon had to interrupt her and say, "Uh, Karen....that was supposed to be ironic."
BAM!
Classic Jon rejoinder!
My wife said she looks kinda like Georgie (the eyes).

<i>"And Jon had to interrupt her and say, "Uh, Karen....that was supposed to be ironic."</i>
Absolutely the BEST thing said during the whole show.
Neo-cons just don't seem to "get" irony...or sarcasm, for that matter.

|
to go on a three-page rant.
If I remember correctly, Rove was supposed to be the master of all things political (issues etc) and Karen was in charge of crafting Dubya's image.
Everything the American public likes about Dubya was her creation. She invented him out of whole cloth.
Liar. Chief propaganda minister. Spinmeister-in-chief. This woman has no morals whatsoever.
I can't stand to watch her. I'd rather sleep with Ann Coulter than listen to her disgusting drivel....(note:suicide would follow)

14. Wonder what kind of money a Karen Hughes make??? |
|
Is it more a power trip? Does she get plugged into the media (books, speeches, tv appearances)? Wonder if she is a independent contractor that bills by the day, hour, year, minute, second??? As an independent myself, I'm curious.

17. absolutely! She even wrote his book for him .... |
|
I laughed out loud when I heard about Bush's other speechwriter Michael Gerson crafting elaborate passages for him to read ... Bush liked them because they made him seem devout and thoughtful. Then Karen Hughes would pencil out the big words, because they clashed with HER image of a simple, plain-spoken Dubya.
At this point, even a Hollywood actor might interject a few suggestions about how to develop the character in a more consistent way. How very revealing that Bush just sat there and let them squabble!
The only good thing is that Bush sometimes mocks her (s)mothering of him. With luck she will get fed up with him and write a tell-all book someday.

16. I saw her on the Bill O'R. show this week. |
|
I can't stand her. But it is important to watch her carefully, to anticipate her plans for 2004. I noted she kept saying how "normal" she and the "old gang" are, shopping for veggies, talking on the cell-phone, and raising a teen-ager. Her main line to "connect" with the common folk was the "gosh, it's hard to raise a teen!" crap. I think that we can counter that easily enough .... her son sure as hell isn't going to Iraq to fight, kill, or die. Ours could be. She's not one of us. She's the one on the cell phone, helping to make plans for our kids' futures.

They brought her back to show how wonderfully normal they are. Crafting the just everyday folks image. Gee, gosh darn it, George is good people, he cares about you, he really cares and wants and does do a good job.
:puke:
My son last night said she has a phony laugh - well, that's not all that's phony about her.
They need her folksy charm (and I say that with bile in my throat) to present Bush* in a kinder light to counteract all that awful evil stuff the liberals are saying.
And, no her son won't be fighting in any war, I'm sure they'll come up with some excuse, I mean reason for him to stay nice and safe, out of harm's way. Well, they can't have my son either! Gee, gosh darn it.

32. Karen spills the beans on Cheney on NPR today |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 12:29 AM by T Bone
I listened to that Diane Rehm show today. One point Diane asked her what she thought about the recent cartoon showing Bush as a puppet and Dick Cheney as the puppeteer. Karen was all aghast and scandalized over it. Said it was uncalled for, etc---and then quickly launched into a homily about how Dick Cheney is such a 'quiet' man. She went on at length about how there was nothing odd about them testifying TOGETHER at the 911 commission, that Cheney won't interfere with Bush's answers. She went on more about how Bush makes all the decisions and talks the most at meetings.
But Karen just couldn't quit at that and then said something I thought was quite revelaing and which actually confirmed the question that Diane Rehn had asked about does Cheney tell Chimpy what the policies will be...Karen said, and I wrote this down almost after she said it, so it is almost verbatim:
"Dick Cheney speaks in an amount inversely proportional to the number of the people in the room."
I thought this was directly contradictory to the point she was trying to make and gloss over this. This would mean when they are alone together Cheney speaks more than Bush? Well it proves the point if you ask me that Cheney runs Chimpy, especially in their more private moments. Which is exactly the opposite of the point she was trying to make.
That woman is a fast and furious talker, and I am not sure she listens to herself either.
