What happened with the Stern "firing"? Was it a April Fools joke?
I haven't heard anything one way or the other on the news.

2. Joke but not a Joke
Stern had his GM read a statement that due to government pressure the Stern Show would no longer be available. then for 1.5 hours his radio show was broadcast as the Cross and Lopez Show with " fun without the filth", a lame sterile show of Muffy and Biff type crap.

Whether you like Stern or not, and I'm surprised that women listen to him, the idea of the government shutting down free speech is chilling.

Once the FCC raises the fines to $500,000 per occurrence no station will broadcast anything but Pat Boone and Amy Grant. It was a taste of things to come for his audience.

Stern's new website is full of anti-Bush stuff.
