National Security Advisor to Testify Before the 9-11 Commission

April 1, 2004

The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (also known as the 9-11 Commission) will hear public testimony from Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, at 9:00 - 11:30 a.m., April 8, 2004, in Room 216 of the Hart Senate Office Building.

The proceedings will be open to the public and members of the media. Seating will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Members of the media must register by the close of business on April 6, 2004, by visiting the Commission�s website, www.9-11commission.gov. Members of the media, particularly photographers and radio and television broadcasters, also must contact the appropriate Senate Press Gallery for accreditation as soon as possible.

Archived video and complete transcripts of the proceedings will be posted as soon as they are available.

... though it doesn't say it's going to be broadcast live. I guess that's up to the journalists who are bing asked to register by Tuesday. I'd imagine at least C-SPAN will cover the whole hearing gavel to gavel.

She said the claim by the National Security Adviser, Condoleezza Rice, that there was no such information was "an outrageous lie".

said she spent more than three hours in a closed session with the commission's investigators providing information that was circulating within the FBI in the spring and summer of 2001 suggesting that an attack using aircraft was just months away and the terrorists were in place. The Bush administration, meanwhile, has sought to silence her and has obtained a gagging order from a court by citing the rarely used "state secrets privilege".

She told The Independent yesterday: "I gave details of specific investigation files, the specific dates, specific target information, specific managers in charge of the investigation. I gave them everything so that they could go back and follow up. This is not hearsay. These are things that are documented. These things can be established very easily."

She added: "There was general information about the time-frame, about methods to be used - but not specifically about how they would be used - and about people being in place and who was ordering these sorts of terror attacks. There were other cities that were mentioned. Major cities - with skyscrapers."

5. We should know by Monday whether Ms Edmonds will testify before the 9-11

... Commission. Saturday makes 10 days until the next 9-11 Commission hearing after Condi's. The Commission says (see link below) it announces panels of witnesses about 10 days before a hearing.

Coverups and infiltration of the FBI by foreign spies surely belongs on the agenda for 9-11 Commission hearings on "Law Enforcement and the Intelligence Community". They're to be held starting April 13th. This translator (Sibel Edmonds) could be the next Richard Clarke, only two weeks from now. She's already been on 60 Minutes.
