Gay couple visits the local LDS Ward House

One Sunday morning a gay couple entered an LDS chapel just before services were to begin. The young men wore radical clothes but were squeaky-clean. they wore matching tight 501´s with a rainbow shirt and matching ties that were very loud. Adam who had pierced ears and earrings carried a Bible and Steve whose purple hair set him off from everyone carried a missionary pamphlet.

The ward house they entered was in a very upscale and exclusive part of the city and the sign outside did say visitors are welcome. It was the largest and most beautiful LDS Chapel in the city and the nicest the couple had ever seen. The ward members were all dressed alike in expensive clothes but drab in comparison to them. As they took their seat, the others moved away from them. No one greeted, spoke to, or welcomed them. They were all appalled at their radical appearance and did not attempt to hide their distain.

One of the speakers gave a long speech on the evils of not following the brethren and the consequence of the immorality now seen on TV about the sins that caused the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The ward was challenged to pay an honest tithe and also to give money to the missionary fund to help spread the Gospel. As the gay couple was leaving the church, the bishop approached them and asked them to do him a favor. "Before you come back in here again, have a talk with the Lord and ask him who He thinks are the type of people He´d find acceptable to attend here."

The two guys assured the bishop that they would. The next Sunday, they showed up again for the services wearing the same kind of loud clothing. Once again they were completely shunned and ignored.

The bishop approached the two men and said; "I thought I asked you two to speak to God before you came back to our ward."

"We did," replied the two young men.

"If you spoke to God, what did he tell you about the kind of people God accepts here and allows to attend our meetings?" asked the bishop.

"Well, sir, God told me that He didn't have a clue what I was talking about. He said He'd never been in this church before."

2. LOL
Love that. Is that supposed to really be true? I'm so naive. I just wish something like that would happen in my local ward. Not only would I be friendly, I'd be giving them my phone number.
