Morning Sedition opens reporting London Independent reports about Sibel Edmonds.
Reports Ashcroft is slapping a gag order on her using "state secrets" provisions.

10. Call your senator this morning to keep allowing free speech on the radio |
|
call 202 224 3121, you can get your senator. The indecency bill that is wiping the republicans ass with the first amendment could be hotlined this morning, from 9:30-10:00, all there needs to be is 1 senator to object and the hotline is stopped, and the bill is at least put on the backburner to be debated. It's called S 2506, just ask them to stop the hotline.

11. I love Morning Sedition |
|
It's actually my favorite to listen to. Good morning voices, if you know what I mean. No shouting ( not that I disapprove if it is appropriate) and calm, cool news and comment. Intelligent commentary.
Right now....such a good caller: Brad from Manhattan.

|
Edited on Fri Apr-02-04 08:03 AM by mouse7
It's week one. They've pulled their website and put it back up more than twice to try to deal with massive unexpected web volumn. There are going to be bugs when that happens.
Try the WLIB link if the *AA* link isn't working for you.

19. The Christian bashing I hear on Air America is a really bad idea |
|
There are so many issues where liberals can explain their position and find common ground with a majority of Americans. Things like health care, the economy, taxes, and the environment should be easy sells. But going on and making fun of peoples faith is just a huge mistake. I am not religious at all and even I am finding it offensive.
Things like this just reinforce peoples worst notions of liberals.

I do believe that's what Seperation of Chuch and State was put in the Constitution to protect. The right not to be forced to have Christian rhetoric shoved down ones throat all the time.

What they were going is called JOKES. I'm sorry you have no sense of humor about the topic of religion. You seem to believe that a few jokes are "bashing." That sounds like the standard line I hear out of Bible Belters.

20. One bummer... Can't see Robbins play "Embedded" in Portland |
|
Edited on Fri Apr-02-04 08:08 AM by mouse7
I'm listening to the net feed about 1/3 of the time because of delay. Therefore, I'm listening to a lot of NY ads.
The Tim Robbins play sounds good. Too bad it's running 3000 miles away :(

He was sound asleep and they woke him up to discuss employment figures. He's still half-asleep and is having a real hard time with doing math. It's just hysterical.

It hadn't occurred to me that 150,000 jobs a month are expected for population growth -- which makes the average "job growth" over the last three months, well...less than average.
Also talked about how the deficit is devaluing the dollar which is causing gas prices to rise. Reich knows his stuff.
