1. Screw Byrd
He's one of the most conservative Dems in the Senate, and his record on environmental and labor issues is horrendous. Even worse, he is enthralled with energy corporations which give millions of dollars to the Repukes. I prefer Lieberman over Byrd

2. Robert Byrd is a statesman in the tradition of our best Americans
of our history. When one has made 17,000 votes, there are going to be many we don't agree with. He has stood practically alone in exposing the Bush lies on Iraq.

I forgive him for being a member of the Ku Klux Klan, but I don't think former Klansmen should be anywhere near places where laws are made.

Where are the reparations lawyers? You want to sue someone? Here's a guy who was an actual legislator during the Jim Crow era. Sue him, not some nameless stockholder who had nothing to do with anything.

I do agree with him that his wife must be a very patient woman though.
