Let's say I'm an Iraqi. My Mom and Dad owned a coffee shop in central Baghdad. In the evenings, my Mom and Dad and little brother and sister watched T.V., sometimes listened to radio or Internet. They saw that Saddam was asking the world to come in, inspect anywhere, because he had no weapons. So the world took him up on his offer. Then chimp decides that not finding the weapons is not what he wanted. So he ends the inspection process and bombs away. Little brother and sister die in the bombings. I see their mutilated bodies!
And still, no WMD's.
I know that chimp had other motives.
Now I see the mutilated bodies of Americans being dragged through the streets.
Should I be horrified? Do I feel vindicated?

bombed my homes, killed my people, and proceeded to sign over all my resources and industries to Iraqi corporations, I would find myself wanting to do the same damned thing

3. So are you encouraging this behavior? |

Is this a good thing? It's a slippery slope. Our troops don't deserve to die for a war like this, it isn't their fault they are there. If the Iraqis want someone to kill I have an address they can head to: The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC 20500

War is about KILLING, violence, extreme aggression. I do NOT condone it or the behavior described above. BUT, if we are to engage in it we should know what the consequences are. The bodies should be shown, the violence exposed. At the risk of inciting more of it, how are people to know the reality if they are not informed?
I suspect the majority of Iraqi people were apalled at their countrymens behavior. My experience is people outside of the US generally have a MUCH better understanding of the difference between an American and his government's policies/leaders than most Americans do of other peoples.
