308,000 jobs in March...?
Edited on Fri Apr-02-04 04:04 PM by imax2268
Is this number correct...to be honest...I'm not a number cruncher and I really don't follow these numbers all that well...but when I take that number and google it...I keep coming up with 308,000 jobs lost in Feburay of last year...
So if in March there was gain of 308,000, but there was a loss of 308,000 last year...there's no gain is there...

Can someone explain this to me...thanks...

these #'s are being inflated...
wait until B*shco repeats this figure 40 or 50 times. Then they will 'revise' the figure for March. SOP.

1. Those months net out
but you have to consider the months in the between Feb 2003 and March 2004. Each month had their own numbers.

get ready to see bush & his happy media family inflate/change/adjust any & all numbers "when necessary" and "as needed" to make him look good.

Don't get much more simple than that really...

Peace

7. The same report says there are 180,000 more people out of work
But you won't be hearing much about that. Per BLS:

But for out-of-work Americans, the economic rebound has been frustratingly slow. In March, there were 8.35 million people unemployed, compared with 8.17 million the previous month. The average duration of unemployment has been more than 20 weeks, a 20-year high.

8. How is it possible ???
To gain 308,000 jobs and still have unemployment rate go up....unless there were more than 308,000 jobs lost? Perhaps a Repub economist could explain it to us???

11. subtract 30 jobs from that
at my workplace, we found out that a vendor whom we do business with is going out of business... he closed up shop this week, 30 jobs gone.

We buy alot from him, but not enough to keep him in business, a couple of his larger contracts has outsourced their business to China

12. Labor force went up by the 308,000, not JOBS
And the labor force went up because more people are now looking for work. There are only 19,000 more people working now than were working in the last quarter.
