by the way has anyone listened to Clarks book on tape or CD? It's abridged and I can't imagine what wasn't important enough to record from the book.

So instead of a bunch of free republic extreme right wingers pretending to be demcrats and posting things like "I hate this" or a bunch of democratic underground people being told to come here and mindlessly give the five star rating, here's a real review:

Air America currently gets three stars.

People who call it hate radio obviously have an agenda. Listening to the station I realize how hard they are trying not to be "rush Limbaugh" for the left or "hannity" for the left or "Savage" for the left. No conservative gets to talk to me about hate radio as long as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage dominate the airwaves.

My criticism that Air America is actually trying so hard not to be that kind of radio, that it's almost too bland.

There is nothing wrong with having one source on the radio that is an alternative to the absolute domination of extreme right wing talk radio. That being said, Air America is currently a great idea that is not yet perfectly executed. It has a lot of potential, but its too soon to tell which way it will go.

Disagreement is not hate. Expressing disagreement with the Bush administration, and countering disinformation is not hate. Mocking Chelsea Clinton for her looks, comparing poor single mothers to fat baboons (as Rush did), getting fired from MSNBC for yelling at a caller who called in disagreement calling him a slur that I can't even say here and attacking his personal life (as Michael savage did) - that's hate.

Air America is a source for progressive talk. Nothing more, nothing less. It gets three stars because its rough and needs polishing. It could become a five or a one, we'll just have to wait and see.

in that eyes are going to skip over short 5 star reviews. Gotta make sure you give explanations of what you like about the station, and what needs fixing if you think it has rough spots.

I have been waiting for this for a long time, and I was NOT disappointed... I am sure that it will only get better.. The rightwing domination of talk radio has troubled me for a long time. It's no accident that since the Fairness Doctrine went away (one of St.Ronnie of Reagan's first tasks), that very rich republicans have bought up most of the radio stations in the US..

The ones that they did not get, the fundamentalist religiosos, DID.. These people care only about domination of the message.. It has been ever-so "helpful" to the rightwing republicans , to have a 24/7 infomercial for their toxic policies and perverted politicians.

It's about time that there is some programming available to the sane people in America.. It's ironic in a way. Now that we FINALLY have our side being presented, the "Rush-bots" of the country may have to choose now..

We have been "monitorinig" their hate-filled hosts , mostly because there was nothing else, and now THEY must decide...Do they continue to support the blathering "Hateriots" of the right, and their snake-oil pill sponsors, or do they support Air America.. The best part is, that since documented facts are a constant companion of liberal-speak, they might accidentally learn something..

I'm sure they will still tune in to Rush & the Savage Weiner and the other hatehosts, because they will need to keep up on the latest white house talking points and perhaps to get their "Who shall I hate today" list, but hope springs eternal... Some "on the fence" might just have a change of heart, and see that life is too short for hate, and Liberal means...generous, giving,open-minded, and that they have been brainwashed for far too long..

So, to all you Dittoheads.. Pour the koolaid down the drain, get sanitized..not hannitized, and join us.. We don't bite :)
