8. Dadcom reminds me of a carrot.
You keep dangling him in front of our faces every now and then for apparently motivational purposes.

How about some follow ups this time?

6. Anyone who doesn't see evidence of evolution,
please research the DADCOM saga.

MATCOM, maybe there is a slot on Air America for you. You must have powers of persuasion beyond those of mortal men.

Can I give you my older brother's phone number? He needs to find his way to the light.

7. Excellent.
Perhaps Dadcom will balance out the vote of a former Army officer I know who used to refer to Bush* as "the shrub" but now idolizes him for "keeping America safe" and slanders Kerry, Kennedy and Edwards for "endangering soldiers' lives".

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade at all. People sometimes ask "who voted for Gore last time that won't vote for Kerry this time?" Well, here's your guy. The good news is I don't think there are many other people who think like him. He's as unique guy.

13. ahh--I think one of the recent polls showed that 20% of registered
Dems support Bush. It makes me sick. It also makes me certain that they never knew what the hell a Democrat was in the first place.

10. You are busy sending him beaucoup links now, right?
That's way cool, Matcom!

Does Dadcom keep in touch with former colleagues still working for the Company?

There's an interesting graf in this Salon article -- made me think of your dad:

Career intelligence officers are in constant touch with their colleagues who are retired. And I believe the vast majority of those people are honorable, oath-taking, straight-talking professionals who love their country. But, as with any other human beings, when pushed too far -- by being blamed for something they didn't do or being unfairly held out to ridicule for not doing their job -- they will do what most human beings will do. They will fight back. They will have lunch with one of their colleagues, and they will say, "Let me bring you up to date," and they will give chapter and verse on what the White House and the CIA did and did not do. And they have the understanding that their retired colleague may very well have lunch with somebody from the New York Times.

from: Condi Rice's other wake-up call - Former Sen. Gary Hart says he, too, warned Rice about an imminent terror attack on two occasions before 9/11.

http://salon.com/news/feature/2004/04/02/hart/index.html

It's a very good interview, subtle LIHOP fuel, too.

17. Let It Happen On Purpose
as in the Bush administration knew the 9-11 attacks were imminent, but did nothing to prevent them because not acting would serve their purposes.

MIHOP is Made It Happen On Purpose.

14. Big news on that front today...
'I saw papers that show US knew al-Qa'ida would attack cities with aeroplanes'
Whistleblower the White House wants to silence speaks to The Independent

By Andrew Buncombe in Washington
02 April 2004

A former translator for the FBI with top-secret security clearance says she has provided information to the panel investigating the 11 September attacks which proves senior officials knew of al-Qa'ida's plans to attack the US with aircraft months before the strikes happened.

She said the claim by the National Security Adviser, Condoleezza Rice, that there was no such information was "an outrageous lie".

Sibel Edmonds said she spent more than three hours in a closed session with the commission's investigators providing information that was circulating within the FBI in the spring and summer of 2001 suggesting that an attack using aircraft was just months away and the terrorists were in place. The Bush administration, meanwhile, has sought to silence her and has obtained a gagging order from a court by citing the rarely used "state secrets privilege".

37. I want to know where the "This is not a test that day"
We did not know if there were ten twenty 100 one housand planes that day nor did we know the targets and the media ran the country. The media and a mayor..Not a Speaker of the house, Pro Tempre, not even a governor. No one on a federal level..No one was told where to go, pick up their kids, nothing. They can have Broadcast tests for weather but not when we are under attack? Think about it people..We did not know how many and where? I want an answer to that one !

Another reason is that I have this feeling that he could light this place up with a two-line post about the weather.

20. My advice for Matcom to Dadcom
keep it simple and don't overload him.

at some point, there will be a very depressing reality he's going to deal with all the same regardless of what he's seen already in his life.

good job man, enlightenment....is never easy.

34. okay, but
judging from the Mson reaction, maybe not? wouldn't it be more plausible it would be the other way around? So many years w/ CIA...

all the same, it's important that Dcom gets it on his own, and has that knowledge deduced inwardly. Especially with his experience and knowledge of the workings of the gov.

just my 2 pence.

Here I was bracing myself for a reversal of the ground you've gained. Matcom, it sounds like you and your dear dad are in for a beautiful relationship. Lots of good conversations ahead. A meeting of minds is a powerful thing in families. You two have truly crossed a threshold. Good for you and good for your dad!
