Sovereignty is
"the quality or authority of being independent" just one definition I found. Does anybody really believe there can be sovereign government in Iraq with over 100,000 foreign troops still occupying the country?

1. I find it most interesting just how many places in the world
have large numbers of US troops stationed there. I saw an article recently, I think on Alternet, comparing our fondness for far-flung bases with the gunboat diplomacy of 100 years ago. I remember conversing with a young buddhist monk in the back country of Korea while the Vietnam war was still going strong. The man made the comment, "We Koreans have a lot of sympathy for Vietnam, since we are both occupied by US military."
