Jennifer Beals Rocked on Deborah Norville's show!!!!!!!!
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 12:26 AM by Bill of Rights
Found this on "The L Word" board. Jennifer Beals is a true friend.

Debrah Norville is a complete LOSER. She prefaces a love scene (WHICH WE'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE...BETTE AND CANDACE MAKING OUT HARDCORE) by saying, "Ok folks, you might want to send the kids out of the room for a snack." When the clip ended, Norville began to speak to Jennifer about it. Jennifer didn't answer the question. She INSTEAD told Norville that she thought it was interesting that she would preface the clip with a warning. Would you do that if it were between a man and a woman she asked her!!!! She went on to say how there are truly disheartning, disgusting images found on television, yet they come at us without warnings. She even added how she thinks at the end of the day, it's really just about LOVE. She was SO well spoken and articulate! Let's just say if JENNIFER went up against Faye Buckley, Faye would have gone out crying. :D I just think it was right on that a famous actress would choose to take the high road and actually make an OUTSTANDING point vs. just letting it go and continue with the promotion of a movie they are in. I'M SO PROUD OF JEN! That interview proves that she is not only beautiful on the outside, she is beautiful on the inside as well!!!! :D sigh.

This clip will show again, on MSNBC, at 3am. I didn't get a chance to see it, but women are saying it was HOT, HOT, HOT!!! Something about Jennifer Beal's character sucking Candace's fingers.

1. Jennifer Beals is HOTTER NOW than she's ever been
I just watched her in "Roger Dodger". I couldn't believe this was the same woman who was in "Flashdance" 20 years ago. She looks absolutely fantastic, and she's definitely a much better actress now than I remember.

Good for Jennifer. She seems to be experiencing a Renaissance in her career.

3. I've actually seen only one episode,
so far, of "The L Word." Jennifer Beals character is one of the two main ones, in the 9 person ensemble. She was so unbelievably sexy, my eyes were popping out. And I didn't expect that.

She had two major sex scenes. One with her partner and a guy. The fact that I wasn't bothered by the guy being there says a lot! The other was at the end of the episode. She was so hot, licking up her partner's neck and everything.

I swear, anyone who loves women, would love this show. There is a second couple, one who is Mia Kirshner, that is even more intense.

Remember: Sunday nights at 10. Showtime.

8. Yeah, it's become a guilty pleasure of mine (that show)...
...it's easy to get emotionally involved in the characters daily events. And I think the sexual parts are done in such a real "matter-of-reality" way that it's a bit disconcerting for those just tuning in for a rise. That, and of course some of the issues discussed are close to home...

2. Good for her!!!
Not to defend Norville, but... A lot of people I know in my age group who are very pro-gay rights, non-discriminatory, etc, still have a double standard when it comes to their children. (I don't have kids. I am talking about observations of those who do) They say they will completely accept their children if they were homosexual, but they still see same-sex romance in the media as being more taboo, and I admit, I still see it differently, even as accepting as I am of people *personally.* I'm trying to understand it myself. I wonder if it has more to do with the way men (mostly) eroticize lesbians for their own benefit, as opposed to seeing same-sex couple as equals?

I can't say how I would handle it, since I don't have kids, so I won't judge too harshly. However, I have to say how impressed I was with my best friend. Her son is 8, and we were watching a movie, which (unexpectedly) had some very intimate kissing scenes between women in it (not explicit, but romantic, intimate, etc). Kathy didn't flinch at all, and her son didn't ask any questions. He totally accepted it as two people kissing. At that moment, I was really proud of the way my friend is raising her son, and I told her so later also. If I have kids someday, she'll be my example.

18. Good comments on L-Word Board
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 02:00 PM by Bill of Rights
I would be mad, if I were JB, if that is the clip that was used to reflect her acting on the L Word. there are so many other great scenes that reflect a broader range of her acting ability along with being steamy.

and

I would have crapped if I was her and that was the clip they showed....wtf! She rebounded and got our backs... i love her!

and

After watching a couple of Jennifer Beals interviews over this last week and especially the one with Debra Norville I just want to thank her so much for taking on this project, this show. She brought her beauty, intelligence, compassion and humanity and used it to shed light on my world. She's not a lesbian but she's taken the risk of playing one on a ground breaking tv show. She made Debra Norville look small when she told people that they might want to send the kiddies out of the room for the clip from the show and Jennifer asked her why?

Jennifer is my new hero, and I want to let her know that, I want her to know that I'm grateful for sticking up for me and my sisters. Thank you Jennifer!

4. Jennifer Beals and Diane Lane
Two women who are so hot in their late 30s, early 40s, I don't even remember them from so long ago. I love it.

Go Jen!

10. "The L Word" is my personal Must-See TV
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 02:40 AM by VolcanoJen
I think it's the most honest, most exciting, best-acted portrayal of women on television today. Who cares about the sexual nature and content of the show; I'm straight, but the show is so enticing and fun and gossipy and real that I simply can't miss a single episode. Attempts to pigeonhole "The L Word" as "gay-TV" are offensive, lame and boring. The show kicks ass. Get over it, fundies.

I do have to add... Shane... purr...

Excellent to hear that Jennifer Beals stood up to Jon-Benet Norville; Jennifer is excellent on the show; her character is the most complex and interesting, and unpredictable... I admire and respect her all the more now!

16. Bill O'Really transcript with Beals
Jennifer promoted her new series on the Bill O'Reilly show.

Bill: Ms. Beals, we'll begin with you. You're married, and you have some steamy sex scenes between you and another woman in this, not that I watch much of it. I -- no, I did. I have to be honest. Was that hard for you to do that?

Jennifer: No, I didn't have any thoughts about it because the writing is so good, and the love scene wasn't just a sex scene, it was really -- it comes at the end of the first episode, and it was really about these characters reconnecting after having been in a relationship for seven years and going through some difficulty. So, as an actor, I was focusing more on that than...

19. yes indeed
I watched it and even posted a thread saying just how GORGEOUS she is. I never really knew her before her recent publicity tour for the L-Word and my god, she's just stunning, not just physically, but in her manner and intelligence.
