BUSH foresakes his liberal past
I just received "BIG LIES" by Joe Conason from Amazon tonight and to my shock and horror there is a quotion on the first page from Senator Prescott Bush (father of George Herbert Walker Bush, grandfather of President George W. Bush), and I quote
...
"In all those things which deal with people,
be liberal, be human"

Clearly this trait has skip two generations.

1. Skipped generations?
Maybe this means Jenna and Barbara will destroy the BFEE from within (hey, you never know...there was an article about them not agreeing with everything the GOP stands for).

2. Was this quote from the period where he invested in the third reich?

Anyway, I'd wager 'Liberal' in this sense has no connection to its modern use. I may use olive oil liberally, but I don't use it in any political sense.

3. Well, I think Conason knows...
... that Prescott Bush was camouflaging his intentions with such a remark--Prescott Bush is no liberal champion, and his votes in the Senate and his record during WWII pretty much prove that.

More likely, Conason is making an oblique reference to the Bushes, et al, saying one thing and doing quite the opposite.

Cheers.
