Was the Fallujah video a setup to allow renewed bombing?
In other words, were these guys sacrificed or exploited to allow us to bomb the city? I wonder if that is an isolated incident. I would bet that sort of thing happens often. Whenever they catch or kill someone I'm sure they are subjected to the same treatment. Falluja is a stronghold of the Sunni's who support Saddam and were most hurt by their "liberation" from him. They continue to be a real thorn in the coalition's side and refuse to cooperate. It seems to me that it is too hot of an area for regular troops to go in and conduct searches so they need an excuse to renew bombing and wipe these resistors out. What better way to achieve that end than to show horrific mutilations of American citizens? No one here would care if they bombed them now and world opinion would be less harsh considering the events. Plus, it takes average Joe away from thinking about the 9/11 commission and Condi and flares his anger against Iraqis. Anyone else think this way or am I reaching for shit?

1. It's clearly a psyop
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 03:12 AM by Must_B_Free
who ordered it and what was it intedned to do are the questions...

It appears, on the surface, to be from them to us to say "get out of here"

but it also hilights the injustice of this crime of occupation - it' yet another dark stain on Bush's image. If it was our psyop, it would have been a really stupid one.

2. No, it ain't.
That would mean we were in control. Which would mean we don't need to bomb.

Since explosives were set up at a number of points, there is no reason not to suppose cameras were preset, too.

And do you even have a faint idea of how colonialist and condescending you sound assuming that the Iraqis couldn't do anything for themselves, like murder a bunch of armed idiots in a car?

Think Bremer is feeling safe with his million-dollar muscle?
