1. I am going to vote for JK and for Julia Carson
then I am going to bed early, as I did in 2000. I will not be surprised about another Florida surprise.

15. I went to bed early myself
in '00. I remember distictly going to bed around 1 am. I decided to make my mind up that Gore wouldn't win CA and that Bush would win the election - and when that was going to happen, I knew I wouldn't be able to take the gloating.

Instead, the next morning I wake up to news that the election wasn't decided. A few days later I realized the election was stolen.

3. I am terrified that bush
will find some way to cheat us out of a Kerry victory. I despise bush so much. I am working to make sure that my congressmen in the area are going to get elected. I am also contributing to Kerry about twice a month. I can't afford much but i make sure it is steady. I also contribute to DNC and DCC and Hillary's gang of senators. Not a lot but as much as I can. On the local level I am phone banking every night for some local state people, Rep and Senators. If bush wins I am leaving the country,

4. My major worry is how I will react if,
by hook or by CROOK, we "lose" this election (i.e. either an honest loss or stolen). I just don't know. I am hopeful but recognize this is a distinct possibility. It can't stop any of us from working to get the Republicans out of power if it comes to that, but it will be SUCH a disaster for this country...

7. I'll be sweating, but at least we will know the results early
If Kerry wins Ohio or Florida, it's over, he's in. He just needs one of them. I'd actually prefer Ohio, because that implies Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Michigan are ours as well.

If Kerry loses Ohio and Florida, we get four more years of impending doom.

8. Depends on how close it is before then
If we have another nail biter I'll be up all night watching the results.

And, the media better not fuck it up this time! LOL!

Who am I kidding. Even if Kerry is ahead by 5 points in the polls, I'll be nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof.

Palms sweaty. BP high. Heart palpitations. TV on. Watching results on every channel and on the DU. Waiting to see if I will spend a night sleepless in mourning or sleepless in celebration.

Looks like either way I'm not going to get any sleep on election night! LOL!

9. I will try to work so hard I won't notice.
I will maybe check into DU for a minute, but DU should be almost dead quiet election eve. We NEED to be campaigning.

10. Probably sick to my stomach.
I get that way whenever I have to sign important documents, etc. I'll be sick to my stomach worried about what people are going to do and how the BFEE is planning on cheating.

14. Election eve, the night before the election, I will be
Edited on Sun Apr-04-04 11:00 PM by Virginian
worried about getting up on time to open the polls.
I will have to put all of my partisian thoughts aside and have one goal for the following day: A fair and honest election. I won't be getting any outside news, so my aim will be that the number of votes on the machines is equal to the number of voters checked off the pollbooks. All voters in line get to vote if they are registered in my precinct. If they are not registered in my precinct, I will find out where they are registered and hope they can get there before the polls close.
Children at the polls -- If parents bring them, they need to keep the kids with them. We can't do our job and babysit, too. Any unattended children will be fed to my dragon monster in the dark closet at the end of the Hall.
