2. Actually it's totally fucking disgusting
Completely fucking repulsive that they can get away with it due to the fact that THEIR PARTY is in control of all three houses and doesn't have a motherfucking STITCH of integrity.

Really...I never thought I'd get to the point where I would USE the word hate to describe my feelings...but I really DO FUCKING HATE REPUBLICANS...they have ZERO sense of decency.

The media in collusion with the Republican Party sold this lemon to the American public.

25. This story is great, but I think we did get taken on the deal.
I don't believe they were afraid of Rice testifying. They were scared shitless of Bush testifying before the whole commission, for more than 1 hour.

I think they used Rice to get what they wanted for Bush. It may work out ok anyway if this story is any indication. Did you all see Maureen Dowd's column Thursday on this ? Hilarious.

34. I disagree
24 hours ago I would have agreed. But look at that cover. Subject of a Leno joke as well (an equally bad sign).

This is hurting the Chimp VASTLY more, politically, than I could have dreamed--heist on his own petard.

And don't forget to factor in this: As the record shows, if the heat gets hot enough, he'll testify alone ANYWAY. Just to "prove" there was nothing to the story.

And then the shit will REALLY hit the fan.

I think this is the best effing news I've seen in a long time.

30. From the article...
"...nobody with a straight face can deny Cheney is a co-president or worse, the puppeteer who pulls Bush’s strings."

We've known this for 3 years. Maybe the others in the US who've believed Bush's Big Lies will come around and face the reality.

I'm going to buy a copy of Newsweek if that picture is on the cover. Hell, I may even subscribe.

Please Lord, deliver us from these Monsters

that issue will be flying off the shelves? Better get a copy as soon as it's out - before the Bushies buy 'em in bulk and subject piles of that issue (as well as Clarke's book?) to Fahrenheit 451.

17. A Great read too!!!!!
OMG--

Just one paragraph:

What Cheney and the tight circle around Bush are protecting is the myth they have created since 9/11 of a war president astride the world stage. Anybody who punctures that imagery is destroyed. Richard Clarke is only the latest in a series of insiders who have pulled back the curtain. At the center is an incurious president who is so inarticulate that he can’t be left on his own to make a sustained argument on behalf of his policies without falling back on rehearsed talking points and sound bites.

37. I think that the boy Dauphine actually believed that he was going to be
a president. I think he really believed he was one--duly elected. It was like all the rest of the things inhis life that were handed to him and over which he assumed command.

I think he believes that still and that he still believes he is in charge, in spite of all the things he has been forced to retract by the Cheney guys around him.

He is really a stupid man. Let it play out. It is, of course, rich fodder for making fun of him by all those who would be inclined to do so.

So much for the boy king's "strong, steady LEADERSHIP." That three-word phrase should be reworked: "Leadership? WHAT Leadership????"

What I still do NOT get is the "Conventional Wisdom" for the week - with bush getting two sideways arrows. SIDEWAYS ARROWS??? Still trying to diaper him, they are. He deserves nothing but consecutive DOWN ARROWS from now til the bitter end of his regime.

32. When junior "chose" Cheney, I had a chill up my spine
Cheney was a relatively unknown congressman, and even though he had "served" in other administrations, he was never a really hgih-profile guy.. All the "suggested" running mates were pretty well known people, and when Cheney was called in to "help" decide....and then chose HIMSELF.. I knew we were in for trouble..

Junior is only the messenger..the audience warm-up.. Poppy Bush and the "hardliners" are running the show.. Clinton's 8 years were just their interlude..They probably NEEDED those 8 years to fine tune the plan.

George is clueless..he does what people tell him to do..nothing more..nothing less..

He was intended to the the placeholder for Jeb... Won't happen now :)

36. Nancy Pelosi criticizes the joint testimony deal
"It's embarrassing to the president of the United States that they won't let him go in without holding the hand of the vice president of the United States,'' Pelosi, the House minority leader, told reporters in her Capitol offices. "I think it speaks to the lack of confidence the administration has in the president going forth alone.''

Asked how Bush would do before the panel if he appeared alone, Pelosi said, "I don't know. I guess no one wants to take that chance.''

She said the joint testimony would feed the perception that Cheney is the intellectual force behind the Bush presidency. "I think it reinforces the idea that the president cannot go it alone,'' she said.

to think that the president of the United States either needs to be tethered to someone or have his palms covered with Post-It Notes before he can answer any questions....ever....anywhere. What a pathetic excuse for a leader he is.
