Iraq has turned into hell.
Not only should Kerry be saying this in every speech, but it is true. Over 600 deaths thousands injured and about thirty dead in two weeks. But Bremer promises he will get his revenge. Now that will comfort the families of the fallen soldiers

1. what level of dante's inferno do we have to reach
before people get the clue. We invaded illegally. No one wants us there. We should be pulling the troops out. We should apologize to the Iraqis and give them their country back, IMHO.

Lugar, though, is calling for hearings on extending the handover beyond July 1

3. He is trying to face reality.
There is no plan for the handover and we have thousands of American troops in the middle of a religious-civil war.

If the handover takes place, war escalates.Infrastructure is destroyed. We don't have the troops to maintain control.

If the handover is delayed, war escalates. Infrastructure is destroyed. We don't have the troops to maintain control.

The only solution either way is to have more troops-where will they come from?

Every faction in the country that wants self-determination or wants to take over the country, sees the next 6 months as their last, best opportunity.
